Hello,

My local mechanic while inspecting my car mentioned that the front left wheel bearing needs replacement.

The question is, how do you know the bearing has worn out...I drive my G everyday and I have not found a noticeable difference. I was also told that the bushing on the left and right side needs replacement. It was recommended to change the whole front left and right lower control arm which is expensive.

Is it possible to replace just the bushing?

If i replace the front wheel bearing, should i replace the bearing alone or a bearing-hub assembly? Also, is it ok to replace just the side that is worn out or should i replace both the front left and right side?

Thanks a ton !!

I just replaced both front wheel bearing assemblies on my 03 sedan with the Precision part that is in the top link. They fit fine and work well so far.

You can buy bushings for the lower control arm but you'll need to have a hydraulic press to remove the old and press in the new ones.

It's about the same cost to buy Bedk Arnley or Mevotech lower control arms from Amazon. I have them on my sedan right now. They work as well as OEM.

Gilley...thank you soo much for your reply.

I am planning on replacing the control arms as well. can you give me a link or provide me with a Beck / Arnley P/N for the front left and right rear control arms?

There is just soo much on amazon, not sure which is the right part.

Thanks !!

Ordered the precision wheel bearing from amazon yesterday with 24 hr shipping. Just put the new wheel bearing and whoaa what a difference. This was an exact fit for the OEM. Car runs smooth like before.

All is well again :)

This is the Beck Arnley lower control arm. http://www.amazon.com/Beck-Arnley-101-6 ... ontrol+Arm

This is the Mevotech compression rod. http://www.amazon.com/Mevotech-MS30165- ... ch+MS30165

It depends on which one you need because they can both be called a control arm.
