Just out of sheer curiousity, but, why isn't there a QR section in the Engines forum? Just found it strange.

Because the QR is the laughing stock of the Nissan engine lineup?

Yeah, some butterfly screws I think. Chances are, my car might have a QR25DE and thought I might feel left out.

it was a dead forum.

most of the QR questions are directed at the Sentra and Altima forums.

Not as harsh as an engine fire.

Thanks a lot, Renault.

I've heard the new QRs have taken care of this problem. Any insight?

Poor QR, it has the potential to be a great motor...just has a bad rap that comes along with it.

From what I hear about the new gen QR is that some of the same old problems still linger. When I had my 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5 it would burn oil, and once the engine had severe powerloss and could not go pass 4000 RPM's.........then just died all together. Was a decent car, but will never get another QR.

I think everyone's still waiting to see if the new one holds up. No one's put enough miles on one for it to blow up yet.

Butterfly screws, disintegrating precats, poorly designed exhaust valves, bad transmissions... that's a lot to fix. Nissan claimed to fix all of the above by '06, then some Altimas blew up.

It's all pretty easy to fix, but new car owners shouldn't HAVE to dive into their engines.

Anyway, count me in the list of skeptics.

What I meant was it was having severe powerloss.......then died.

is Nissan finally admitting to the problems, and actually validating some warranties?

Well, he got to it before I did. I really like the new Spec Vs and am doing research on them to avoid the "Butterfly Effect". Thats's a movie, isn't it?
