Hello again everyone,

Does anyone know if I can use a transmission from a Nissan 300zx Twin turbo inside my Q45. I need confirmation because I think I have read that the Q45 and the twin turbo z have plenty of parts that are interchangeable. Was thinking about ordering a rebuilt from Z1 motorsports if the swap is feasible. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

No problem. Is there anything wrong with your transmission right now?
Any symptoms indicating it's getting tired or are you simply gathering info to be prepared in case one day you might have to replace it?
Do you think their might be an advantage using the 300ZX transmission?

There is some grinding going on when shifting from 2nd to third going up hills and I'm basically looking for a place that can provide me with a quality rebuilt transmission.

In my 33 years of driving, never have I heard of an automatic transmission "grinding" between gear shifts.....now a manual transmission, yea.

I think you might be able to get it to work, the bellhousing will bolt on.. So im guessing that it should be OK, you might have to mix and match things like TC's...

I would reckon that you might be better off just not hassling with it and either getting used Q45 trans or rebuilt from nissan.
