I searched for a while and came up with nothing. Is there an "easier" way to test a PTU? I tried doing whats in the online manual with 2 different PTU's and got close to the same readings on both but not what they were saying I should. Also used 2 different meters to eliminate that.

you should test the voltage on the side of the ptu that goes to the coils. if you test voltage before the ptu it will be a very very small reading. I had a misfire problem and it ended up being a dead channel on the ptu. 5 out of the 6 channels read around 14 volts and 1 was completely dead.

So when you test it that way you connect the positive lead to the ptu terminal and the ground to ?? Also did you do it with the other side still connected and did the ignition have to be on or is it always live?

i had the ground on the battery and tested all 6 pins that come out of the ptu. it has to be in the key on position.
