Hey whats up every one. I figured I would make my own build thread so I can whore my car too Any how its project slow because I am broke like 90% of all 240 drivers in college and parts take for ever to save up for. Any how here is progress so far.

When I bought it:

Suspension

sound deadening tar removed

clean engine bay

Random pics

Auto-X

Drifting

First event w/ open

2nd w/ open

3rd w/ open

Then motor died

Then I got rims

Then I installed a welded diff and went to a drift event where my motor blew

And that is where I am at right now. I should have the motor back in the car this weekend read for a gymkhana event on sunday. Ill keep you all posted.

What did you use in the pic that says "clean engine bay" to clean your engine bay?

haha yeah it does. The first one didn't really blow, the valve stem seals went bad, the second one had the fourth cylinder piston rings go out and when we pulled the head I found a rock stuck to the top of the piston. I am assuming it was there when the previous owner put on the head.

Its more responsive as in you feel it more. I just found out I can upgrade mine to the new style so I am planning on doing that in the near future.

VIPER, do you have to return the ones youre currently using, or do you just have to paypal them 25 bucks?

if you get to keep your current ones, we should try to work somethin' out

mine are at an extreme angle, and i dont want them snapping on me on some crazy WV mountain road.

I am going to get the V4s. I am going to see if the ones I have now will work on my dads car first. If not then we can work something out.

5 bucks says you missed a ground or need to clean one.

No I got all the grounds, I ran into that my last motor swap. I got it running. The cams were off.

Problem. Its running, but its running really violently. I put the distributor on, on the compression stroke at tdc on cylinder one. And it sat perfectly in the middle of the adjustment range. I can't figure it out. The cam lobes (hot camswap) are apposing each other so the lobes are like this = \...../ on the compression stroke at tdc. I can't figure it out for the life of me. I have fuel and spark but I am going to double check.

Any who here are pics of the motor in the car.

What did you use to paint the valve cover and the block? I'm pulling my motor this winter and plan on doing the same.

Car ran great for a drift event and a rather spirited drive up a favorite local road. It idles perfectly... Something my car has never done.

Coil overs to be here some time next month or so...

They will be going on the car as soon as I get my rear toe and traction arms and tires. I already have front inner and outer tie rods, tension rods and rear upper control arms.

I may later, I want to drive around and do a few events on the 8/6 first. Also I want to see how they perform w/ a good set of sway bars.
