NICOclub.com's Autocross Truck went into surgery this winter as part of Project Featherweight, the SCCA E-Prepared build. The goal was to shed weight, do some balancing and just freshen up a few things. The result? I have a Go-Kart :)

For those interested, here is the build-up from this winter :mike

5 months ago, it got parked for the winter, and mods slowly took place since then

Day 1:

Starting to make progress...

Image

Image

Image

Day 2:

Front lip of sorts added, makeshift fender roll on the already beat fenders and of course... more crap removed.

Image

Image

Image

Day 3:

Who needs this? What is this... a plastic ice-cream scoop?

Image

Image

Image

Day 4:

A quick day... but progress nonetheless

Image

Day 5:

Getting to the good stuff. Passenger side rear fender-well removed

Image

Image

Day 6:

Driver side done as well

Image

Day 7:

Paint! Also... the lightweight floppy door mod!

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Day 8:

Front fender tubs come out, and the lightweight floppy hood mod!

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Day 9:

Another quick day. Holes cut in the grill for the blinkers and few other minor cosmetic touches.

Image

Day 10:

Another short day. Blinkers mounted and wiring unwrapped

Image

Image

Day 11:

Hood pins and new bump stops installed

Image

Image

Image

Day 12:

Hood pins finally done. JDM hood prop added for cooling, but the hood is so floppy, the middle is still below where it needs to be :rotfl

Image

Image

Day 13:

Rear suspension rebuild ensues, and 2011 fluids arrive.

Image

Image

Image

Day 14:

Rear suspension fully apart, prepped and painted. Front sway bar out.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Day 15:

Front sway bar, rear mounting points and the rest of the rear suspension sprayed.

Image

Image

Image

Day 16:

New bushings in, rear put back together and adjustable spring rate leaf helper added.

Image

Image

Image

Day 17:

Front sway bar back in with new bushings installed.

Image

Image

Day 18:

Maintenance time... hub comes off to replace wheel studs... thanks you Nissan for this crap design

Image

Image

Day 19:

Battery cables cut to length and master disconnect switch installed.

Image

Day 20:

Brake lines and clutch line flushed and bled, then on to remove OPR off of the Hoosiers

Image

Image

Image

Day 21:

Finally off of stands! Wheels on, wires installed, fuel lines re-routed... all that good stuff. Oil change done as well.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Day 22:

Battery box and battery installed, and, oh, yeah.............. It runs

There will still be a few updates this week as final things are taken care of. Results from this season's results will also be posted with in car videos when possible! Stay tuned for this season's shenanigans :werd:

Day 23:

SCCA rules state there must be firewall hole covers.... how about these?

From this winter, a tab over 150lbs. Dunno about overall, but stock curb weight was around 2580 and I'm estimating 500. That puts it about 2k :)

Yes indeed, in my most memorable shipping experience thus far :rotfl

Due to some unfortunate wiring issues... the truck is back down :(
