Not jumping on the S/C kit or coilovers bandwagon just yet. Has to be different and original.
There fixed it. :slap:

Hey do those wheels fit on the Versa without spacers/adapters? Just bolt on like normal?

You will need 5mm spacers on the front to clear the front calipers. I am running them on both front and rear.

Cams are a thought. Not sure if I want to spec them for a 1.8L or for a 2.0L if that would make a difference. Still thinking long-term (like 3 years down the road) for a built MR20 swap. Still would like pistons and rods to go with them.

I bet there are already injectors out there that would fit the Versa. It's a matter of determining what size you need.

Cool... so they just fit like normal other than that? Where did you get these? I really want to get a set for my Versa.

They fit fine with 5mm spacers. Nothing else needed. I added some chrome lugnuts from an Altima to go with the chrome Nissan emblem.

I bought mine from the classifieds on NICO from another member. They are hard to find, but be patient enough and another set will come up. Don't be afraid of curb rash. Just make sure they aren't all bent up and out of round. Rash is easily fixed with some work, but anything more is not easily fixed and not worth the money.

I think they are selling reproductions on ebay for $400/set + shipping. Not too bad. I got mine for $375 shipped and then put another $75 into materials to fix and paint them (plus ~50 hours of work).

Yeah I saw the reproductions on ebay and have been tempted but would prefer the real deal. Going to start checking wreckers around here... probably a really long shot but it can't hurt to ask.

I have also been looking at Konig Incident's too... they also look awesome.

What years did these wheels come on the spec v?

Thanks for the info!

Gonna be painting mine soon. I'm using paint stripper to save me some time sanding the clearcoat, the cold weather is delaying the dwell though, hasn't gone through the base. I was gonna order the spacers from M2, but my friend gave me his unused set, same 5mm. I'm gonna use Bondo Plastic Metal for the curb rash and nicks.

2002-03 SpecV had these 5 spokes wheels. Made by TSW, they are know to be fragile. Plus, they weight 24lbs each, that's heavy for a 17x7 wheel.

hi,
i'm planning on using the same wheels and just wanted to verify you're only using the 5mm spacer for the front?
the rear doesn't need any additional equipment?

thanks for your help!

Yup, 5mm for the front. You may get some 5mm too for the rear, you'll get a +40 offset on four corners that way.

hi,

tried mounting these with the 5mm spacer, and i don't have enough threads!

someone suggested extended lug nuts, but i've heard different stories about these...

are they safe? has anyone used them on a SpecV rim? if you have, please let me know the specs of the nut you used...

thanks!

you shouldn't need extended lugs. I used the nuts from a newer Altima. Same thread as the Versa.

well, when i installed the wheels with the 5mm spacers, i could only turn the OEM lug 4.5 turns...

tried to install with extended thread lugs nuts and got 6.5 turns, but because of the taper at the wheel hub center, the wheel is no longer hub centric, but now lug centric...

while i know there is really nothing wrong with lug centric wheels, there are some instances where a large wheel hit damaged the wheels studs, and i'm already well over my budget... with the way things are going for me, i'm almost certain this will happen to me... like i said, it's probably safe, but for my own piece of mind...

all that being said, i've got a set of Spec-V rims for sale... any takers... email me at [email protected]
