Well, it is done. After weeks of trying to get a date setup with Mark at RavSpec (GREAT guy and his mechanic/tech guy is great too - definitely recommend RavSpec) to get the MXP SP exhaust installed on the car, it has happened. Here are my impressions:

Fitment was dead on. The only thing they had to do was extend the bolts for the front flange (connects to the Y-Pipe) as the flange is too thick for the stock bolts. Definitely louder than stock but only at WOT. At cruising speeds or idling, it's hardly louder. In other words, PERFECT. I'm the guy who doesn't want anything obnoxious and I don't want to be heard a block down the road at idle...and this is perfect. Very happy.

The exhaust was tested for 5-6 months before they installed it, so it isn't brand new but it was very clean and they cleaned it up a bit more for me. For the price I got it for, more than happy.

Looks good man. I can't wait to hear it. Do you know if it can be tightened up? I'm sure it could be easily.

Working on the video right now.

What do you mean by tightened up?

Awaiting video!!! Hmm....does the rear tips seem slightly off? I know it could be just an angle to the pictures. So what does the "but dyno" say?

I think I just didn't do a good job of centering myself on the rear. They look fine in person at least as far as I can tell. Right side might need to be 'twisted' just a smidge. I might make them even across the board, because right now they are just staggered (these tips are adjustable).

Butt dyno says that the power is a little bit steadier across the power band...more 'smooth'.

Not sure on the size of the tips, I can measure when I get a chance.

Donnie pointed out what i thought the right rear one looks a little lower but hey if you can adjust then thats good I'm a perfectionist. Do you have anymore outside on full throttle sounds good. And im wondering if it will get louder after being broke-in on your car. Def sounds good. Now we need to see who all is interested, the more we get the better the deal we can all get on them.

Yeah I'll have to adjust it when I get a minute.

I don't have anymore outside ones, but when it's not windy I may make another one.

This is already broken in as Mark had it on a car initially so this is what it sounds like after it's been broken in.

Not sure as I never had the Megan. Based on videos, don't think so.

I wish you luck with the group buy and I always like when new product is made for our M's :dblthumb: the more the better.

Enjoy your new exhaust!!!!!

BUT I don't think this exhaust is worth the extra $500 - $600 more than the Megan Racing exhaust system. By your video this sounds just as loud as the Megan Racing on my M45. While the M45 still has a lower deeper tone it's not fare to compare to a V6.

Mufflers are way bigger but they sound louder, only part different besides the mufflers is the adjustable tips which can be done to the Megans at a fraction of the added price (1/4 of the price).

Stillen & the HKS exhaust systems are not as loud as the Megan. In some cases you hear the eng more than the exhaust.

Its actually only like $300 to $400 more then the Full Megan Exhaust if we did a group buy of 5 if we can get more the 5 people then I'm sure we can get it with-in $200 of the full Megan exhaust. But it's also everyone's opinion on the exhaust. Once we get a good video without the wind we can compare it better. But I like the tones alot on this one. But the only other one i have heard with the Megan is with Berks HFC as well and that would make it have more deeper and louder tones.

I'm sure you can get 5 buyers just for opening orders, more will buy as it becomes more popular. It may even be cheaper in the future when it starts to sell on ebay and other car shops.

Like I said the more parts for the M the better. :dblthumb:

What is the price for this new exhaust system? with & without the 5 group buy?

The Megan cost about $775 shipped without a group buy.

They wont sell it without the group buy. They want a minimum of 5 people. There looking for $1350. I haven't seen any Megan exhaust under $800 or $900 for the full system. But all quality.

The Megan exhaust for the M's is a proven part that has been tested for years by so many. They can't even keep it instock as they sell out so fast. In fact I seen them sold used for over $650

Nothing wrong with the Megan exhaust for the M's and like I always have said it's the best bang for the buck when looking for an exhaust system that's fully polished and has a quad tip set-up.

Problem is that they are always out of stock

even at $800 shipped for the Megan set-up your $550 more with a group buy of 5 :tisk: I don't see $300 or $400 getting to $1,350

I know what the problem is I'm just getting to old and I'm so poor just to hand over $550 for adjustable tips

Nice sound... I think it's close to sounding like the Megan. But as far as price, the $1300 give or take is high. I know that Fast Intentions full catback can be made for our cars-- which would include the Ypipe, mids and mufflers would be almost the same price.... That's where a group buy should be started, in my opinion.

As far as the adjustable tips, I'd be afraid of having those stolen :(

HFC's, will definately open up the exhaust.

But overall, I like the exhaust, but cost comparison is something to keep in mind. I did however post a contact for Megan mids and mufflers that can be purchased for a good price -- brand new--- I think the new version had the burnt tip option too. The vendor is literally next to Megan Corp! That's where I picked up my system.....

IlyaKol,
Is there any drone on the hwy? Is it pretty close to stock sound going ~70 MPH? Thanks!

There is a little amount, but I'm like you. I don't want it to be loud when I'm just cruising. I'm very particular and this exhaust fits my requirements.

I think anyone would be happy with this exhaust.

No idea what 'berks' are, but it certainly sounds brilliant ! Not too loud, just deep enough, with a sexy growl !
