Hi I've been having problems with the Rpm needle on the factory Rpm gauge, every time I start the car the Rpm needle just goes crazy from 0 to max, just keeps on doing this for a while, then sometime after it seems to stabilize itself and just act normal....?Any ideas...? help!

you can pull you cluster with out removing dash. also i don't think that you will be able to see the bad wire. if you want to go about it that way then you will have to test each wire and that would be a PITA. its much easier to just swap entire clusters or tachs

when i removed my cluster i had to take out my dash trims around it, to get to the 3 screws that holds it in place. Not sure how you can pull out the cluster without removing any dash parts before hand. Hey look a picture!

yeah you just remove the trim pieces then the 3 screws and pull the cluster out. it takes me less than 10mins to remove all that. very easy. when i swapped the tach from one cluster to the other it took me 30 mins to pull cluster swap gauge and put back.

you have to move you wheel all the way down. i find it best to just release the wheel so it can move up and down.

If you can't find a 240sx cluster, do what I did. Take the tach out of another Nissan cluster & swap it's internals into yours :bigthumb:
