sound like your having a torque converter issue :tisk: ... bring it to your local dealer you should be under warranty... :) if for any reason you come to a stop and it shakes or kills your having a torque converter issue.. now keep in mind it could well be something else.. make sure you have a ASE mechanic look at it.. :dblthumb: you have very low mileage to be having this problem.. wish you the best.. please update us on what the mechanic found.. ;)

welcome to the forum! :)

this appears to be normal. you are putting a load on the engine, and the RPM will dip due to load, and the shaking will be because of the RPM dip from the engine. this is a basic 4 cyl engine- so its not as powerful of an engine; expect small vibrations.

P has no load = engine works load free.
R is a load.
N has no load = engine works load free
D has a load.

from p/n into R/d you are going to get a vibration from the engine and a shift inside the transmission from a gear change.
also i want to add. when you are putting a gear into place, it wants to move - but your brakes are holding the car, so its gonna make a slight "jerky" feeling.

i dont know how violent your jerky feeling is, but i do want you to know all cars do this. if its really bad from D straight into R = then you have a problem.

if you can start the car at least every week for 15mins, that would be great. try to roll it around. tires that stand around with weight on them, will get something called DRY ROT.

every time you start a car, it takes about 10mins of running before you replenish what you took out(for the initial start)

but its important to roll the car around, and to try and change the spot the car is parked on. you dont want to keep weight on the same spot on a tire.

It depends somewhat on how cold the air temperature is, however you should never need to idle your car for more than 3-5 minutes before driving even in the coldest winter weather. In warm weather, just let the car idle for a few seconds then take it easy (go slow and easy) for the first few minutes. In winter let the car warm up a few minutes, and again just accelerate slowly and keep the rpms lower until the car starts to warm up.

The best way to warm up your car is to drive gently, this is a good general rule to keep your car running like new and avoid wear and tear regardless of temperature. Even when the car is fully warmed up, it's not a bad idea to avoid stomping hard on the gas when taking off and hitting the brake hard to decelerate. This will just decrease the overall wear on the vehicle, but of course everyone has their own driving style, some will be much harder on a vehicle than others!
