PCI sound card work with PCIe motherboard???

i was wondering if you guys can help me im looking for a PCIe creative x fi sound card and i have a PCIe mother board. BUT the xfi is only available in PCI can i still use that one?? thanks

I believe you can. Of course I don't really like the hardware side of a computer (more into software), but I do believe you can.

open up your comp, or look up your mobo specs. Most likely you have a pci-e for video, and the rest of the expansion slots are PCI.

Probably true, but some very new motherboards have multiple PCIe slots (x16 and x8 and x1) and only a few PCI slots.
