dcusick, not sure what is going on but perhaps they're not selling well in your area and that one has been on the lot a long time. It's also nearing the end of the month and it's possible they are struggling to meet their February goals. Who knows really?

But the fact you received that as an initial quote tells me you'll get it for at least invoice, possible lower.

Welcome to NICOclub! Cheers from the staff here, we are thrilled to have you as a new member of the QX56 Forum!

That is a good price on a hot selling vehicle for its segment. Only thing I would suggest doing is finding another dealer with the same vehicle features wise and see what another dealer will sell you the same thing for. That way you have an accurate baseline.

Here's the funny thing. The truck is actually on the dock right now, waiting to be moved to the lot. Supposedly, there are quite a few that meet my requirements.. Guess they're looking for a sure sale, since they have a bunch coming in and, like uwhusky said, month end is around the corner... I'm going to try to get it for invoice. At the very least, I'm sure they will come down a little bit from their initial quote. That's all I need to go on... Thanks for the info guys! Looking forward to the new SUV!

This is the final push for Nissan, the end of the fiscal year is fast approaching. With rising gas prices on the horizon sales will surely slow down on the QX56 at least a little.

I asked for an initial quote, so I had something to work with when I go back in. Basically, looking at the 2011 AWD QX56, Black on Black, with Theater Package. MSRP on that is $65,060, and I was quoted with $61,600. I put invoice at around $59,888. So their first offer to me was almost $4,000 under MSRP and only like $1,700 over invoice. What am I missing here? Seems like a really good price off the bat for this highly sought after truck.
That seems like a great price. I just took delivery yesterday (but have been trolling around for a while). I had one like yours specked, but there damage issues at port and had to wait for another. In doing so, based on what was coming in, I picked one that had the 22" tire package which looks much better. My original quote was $63,000, but added the tire package ($2k) and other accessories at cost (cross bars, kick plates, cargo area protector, rubber all-season mats, etc.). My final amount was $66,000.

My dealer called me about 2+ weeks ago to say my QX56 would be here on April 11th. However, given all that's going on in Japan, I'm wondering if it may be delayed. Scarce power in Japan, docks could've been damaged by tsunami and I'm just guessing that life as normal in Japan is not normal. Anyone hear anything?

My dealer told me that they actually get little information on the whereabouts of any vehicle until it leaves port. The plant itself wasn't affected, just the ports. So, there are probably a group of vehicles that were caught up in the tsunami, but it sounded like they were still trying to figure that out. Also, who knows when the vehicles (if not lost in the tsunami) can actually get on a boat to the States. Good luck, hope you hear good news soon.

We picked up our 11 QX56 (sticker was $71,936) for $67K and a free set of headphones (I have 3 kids). I tried for invoice but was happy with about $4900 off sticker. We have a white 2WD one with theater package/Tech Package/Touring Package. Some people thought we'd get a better deal but I needed a vehicle (bad experience with a GL350) and Edmunds had the 2011 listed as
$65,404 Invoice
$71,635 sticker
$68,207 True-Market Value price

I was sufficiently happy and any grievance over not getting invoice was quickly erased by how much I love this vehicle!

That is a great deal! I would be happy if I were you! QX56 is selling very well, so there is a high demand. Enjoy the new ride! :bowrofl:

Thanks. That is what I was hoping to hear. I had heard of several dealers saying that after the Tsunami/Nuclear disaster in Japan, lots of dealers weren't going to negotiate much due to supply/demand. Luckily, we seem to have found one that wanted to deal. They had the exact vehicle I wanted on their lot as well, so that probably helped!

From what I heard, there were only about 1500 Infiniti vehicles that were in port and damaged by mother nature. That translates out to not much, so there is no delay, not to mention there were still vehicles en route to dealers. So no worries, no reason to pay sticker!!!!

I checked the Nissan/Infiniti VPP website (insidenissan.com) and was happy to discover that my company was participating in their program. I was able to get my QX56 for invoice that way with no need to negotiate. It's my understanding that for the QX56, it's up to the dealer to honor the VPP pricing. The local dealer in Austin declined. However, dealers in San Antonio, Dallas and Houston were willing to honor it.

Interesting, I have purchased 3 vehicles under the VPP program, I have yet to find a dealer that DOES NOT participate in the program. Their loss, kind of foolish to not participate.

Anyhow, welcome to NICOclub! Enjoy your new spectacular ride!
