I have a 06 M45 78k and the service eng. light has just come on and the car seems to be being held back upon acceleration. car idles fine and drives smooth. i removed the batt let sit for a few mins. restarted car light was out.As soon as I pull off I hear a little thump and the light comes on and it returns back to the sluggishness, when I manually shift the tach is inconsistent and not shifting properly. Any ideas thanks.

You might have some serious transmission problems.

P1757- Governor Pressure Above 3 PSI When Request Is 0 PSI
Theory of Operation
The Governor Pressure Control System is used to regulate the governor pressure which controls the shifts for first, second, and third gear. The Governor Pressure Control System test verifies that the requested pressure and the actual pressure are within a predetermined tolerance.

When Monitored:
While the engine is running and the gear selector is in the Drive position.

Set Condition:
This DTC will set if the monitored Governor Pressure is greater than 41.4 kPa (6 psi) for 5 seconds while the gear selector is in the Drive position with the road speed equal to zero - six times during a drive cycle. The transmission oil temperature must be between 23 - 88° C (73 - 190° F).

Possible Causes
OTHER TRANSMISSION DTC'S PRESENT
5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN
5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION
TRANSMISSION OIL BURNT OR OIL PAN HAS EXCESSIVE DEBRIS - INTERNAL TRANSMISSION DAMAGE
GOVERNOR PRESSURE SENSOR
GOVERNOR PRESSURE SOLENOID
VALVE BODY
ENGINE CONTROL MODULE 5 VOLT SUPPLY

Check you're email. I sent you the two DTC codes in details with troubleshooting steps. Sounds like something's wrong with the front brake solenoid. Have you flushed the brake fluid? btw it's in MS Office XPS format. Sorry I don't have acrobat writer on this computer.

Cheers,
M

Uhh wth happened to your car?

Have your flushed or serviced the transmission?
If so with what?
If not what does the fluid smell like?

Best case scenerio you have an electrical problem...worst case you are loosing fluid pressure... low pressure usually leads to rapid wear, especially if it has set a dtc.

I have seen these cars run out of fluid (collision related leak or otherwise) and they will slip and basically go into a hydraulic failsafe of sorts but the risk of damage is minimal. If the pump however is not outputting correctly things are not sounding very good.

Are you sure those are the codes that are being thrown? Now I'm second guessing Alldata's accuracy lol.
