Thought I might change my own oil on the new qx56, help.

Does anyone know how to get access to filter. It is at front bottom of engine, but covered by panels.

They must do this stuff on purpose.

The drain plug is simple to get to on the oil pan and not covered. That bolt is 14mm.

The oil filter is under the metal splash shield. The easiest way to get it off is to just remove either the two 10mm bolts on the access panel (only on some years of qx56 and armada) or the 10mm bolts on the shield and drop it out of the way.

The filter is directly under there and it takes a Nissan 65F00 filter.

The vehicle takes 6 quarts of oil.

Good luck with your first oil change! Its quite easy

First oil change complete. Anything but easy with the cold.Basically took out the bolts for the panel covering the filter. There were also 2 more bolts into the bumper, don't have to take them out, the panel comes down enough to access the filter.

Even though i drained the pan well, the filter still had oil, very messy, be prepared.

But i am done, 61/2 quarts of mobile 1 i am good to go. thanks for all the help.
