Well the oem bumper is really flexible compared to the aftermarket body kits (fiberglass). I would use a type of flexible epoxy to get the bumper in tack. Then sand it down with 100 grit sand paper. Then a light coat of bondo to cover up the epoxy and try to get the original shape of the bumper. Sand bondo with 150. You might need to to the 2 or 3 times to get it just right. After every layer use higher grit. To get the surface smoother. Then prime it. If you do it right it should hold up nice. I cracked my Lip commin out of a friends drive way. And did the same. I'll post some pics for ya later. Good Luck

i bet it could be fixed. i would probably take it off and reinforce from the backside of the bumper with some fiberglass, but im sure there are some other good methods to fix it.

What i'm worried about with fiberglass is that i read that it doesn't really stick to the plastic very well, and i'm just worried that the first big bump i hit, it'll crack, and I'll be here again.

If you sand the bumper with low grit sand paper first the epoxy should hold up. But you should reinforce it like darens13 said.

Easy fix. Just make sure YOU DO NOT use any type of body putty (Bondo) or fiberglass resin on it since its urethane. You have chances of it cracking in the future if you do.

What you need is a plastic filler/plastic weld, it's practically the same thing as body putty, but made for plastic parts. A good one I recommend is Evercoat Poly-Flex or Fusor 114, but there's plenty of other good ones.

You'll need a reinforcing mesh on the backside of the hole so you have something to lay the plastic filler on.

Go to your local Auto Body Paint Supplier, they'll have everything you need.

no fiberglass, no bondo...

go to the bodyshop supplyer and ask for the correct product from "Fuzor" adhesives.

they make a plastic weld that is much stronger than most off the shelf stuff...remove the bumper and use it as directed, clam together and reiforce behind it aswell.

in all theory youd be best off prepping the surface, sanding away the material a bit with some sandpaper so it aheares even better but then that woyld require paint and body work, post oporation aswell...

GL with the fix

You're lucky cuz I'm doing research right now for shaving off my license plate so here's a list of products you can get:

Fusor go on website for local supplierPlastic Finishing Adhesive, 114Bumper Reinforcing Mesh, 700

3M Duramix Semi-Rigid Plastic Repair, 04240-You need applicator gun which is Automix Dispenser, 08117Reinforcement Patch, 04904

SEM go on website for local supplierFlexible SEM-Weld, 39927 or 37908 for bigger onePlastic Repair Reinforcing Tape, 7006

Evercoat Maxim Urethane Adhesive, 887 (Fast) or 885 (Medium)Multi-Purpose Repair Panels, 828

IMHO though for the reinforcing mesh, go to Home Depot and buy one of those Fiberglass screens that you use to put on screen doors to get fresh air, but keep bugs away. MUCH cheaper.

i used some stuff called 40/40. its a two part epoxy that uses a special gun, and a tip that mixed the two. its gnarly stuff. when i removed my lip the pop rivets tore the stock bumper. that stuff along with a plastic mesh made it really strong. it takes overnight to dry, but its a quality product. i dont reccomend buying all this, but find something similar/cheaper and use that plastic mesh stuff on the inside of the bumper, it should reinforce it real nice.

rb_240sx pretty much gave u everything u need to know. I would recommend the evercoat urathane expoxy. Get super fast drying type. Handling time is like 1 min and curing is like another 1min so u dont have to hold it by hand for a long time. It sticks excellent, it flexes just it would before and sands easily. I wouldnt settle for less but its expensive. If u want to know how to recreate your lip with the stuff i can tell you. All i to say is two putty spreaders is all u need.... no tape or gay zip ties.

Ok well here's my $0.02, I bought a zenki front lip awhile back for 20 bucks but it was cracked almost in half, I went to autozone and there it this bumper repair kit made by the company "bondo" it's a bumper apoxy that works great it dries and bonds to the plastic very well, its sandable and paintable, I used it on my lip and even "molded" a piece when a chunk was missing from the lip, it came out great, I've scrapped and hit my front lip so badly (stupid chicago streets and speed bumps) and it held up great, is flexable when it dries I traded a chuki bumper for a silvia bumper that had a crack on the top of it and I decided to use that stuff and it works great, it come with the reinforcing mesh too, it's in a small tube you gotta mix it together, IMO it's the best stuff without having to spend crap load of money, but anyways its about $6.99 a tube remember tho you still gotta paint the bumper

ya it does come out of the mixer tip as a black color. it dries black also, but that stuff is great. although i was talking to my uncle that loaned me the gun, and he was telling me that the company who produced it is not making that epoxy anymore. he told me that the company DURAMIX used to produce it, but now they only sell a weaker version that doesnt compare . this sucks cuz it worked wonders. well, at least i was able to use it and see how great it was.
