Happy New Year BadQ45t! Thanks for your note - I think you're right - more rubber would look great on this Q - 215's are just too skinny (although good for gas mileage). I do need to get the fluids replaced - since reading your post its been on my mind... I appreciate your input.BadQ45t wrote:Very nice find!!! Now you get to fix it up, although in chicago stock height is probably best bet. Start to look around for some FX-35/45 or 3rd Gen Q45 rims. Those stock T rims were nice but once you kick up the size of your tires to 18" or 20" you get a much better bite of road.
The bad news is that there are very few aftermarket parts available, but you can fix her up with help from your friends here on NICO. I have a 97' with 96'k and lowered it with Tein Springs, KYB SR Special strut/shocks and did 19" M45 rims (don't buy those, spacers required so I PITA). All found by people on the board here.
But the car will be very reliable for you, just keep up fliuid changes....if you don't know the last time the tranny, rear end, power steering and brake system got new fluids you should flush all of them and replace with Synthetic fluids, Mobile one at the least and Amsoil or Redline at best.
UP DA CHI & Nice Q45! The G35 wheels look sharp. What Junction Produce products did you rock on the interior? I really like the blk on blk and would have preferred that on my own Q. What's the car sound like w/o cats & muffler? Also, where did you get you repairs done here in Chicago and source the Cima gill?NickY33 wrote:^wow! I wasnt aware that there were other members in the chicagoland area!
i've had my black on black 1997 Q45t for over a year now-
bought it off some guy who lived in wilmette, right when the odometer hit 155,555 took excellent care of it. over the last year or so, ive replaced the power steering pump, starter, battery, O2 sensors, and EGR valve. unfortunately at the moment, the check engine lights still on: looks like both of the knock sensors need to be replaced! currently has 176,650 miles, still runs great, could use a tuneup though...
As of right now, its relatively close to stock, still waiting to get coilovers for it (the stock shocks DEFINTELY need to be replaced!) took out the cats and muffler, put some Junction Produce goodies in the interior, added the Cima grille and G35 wheels.
I love my Q, i cant wait to get all the necessary repairs finished up so i can fully enjoy this car!

Rules, only post once (never mind on that rule, post away!!!), and post only ONE pic of your car, year and anything you feel relevant.
1998 Q45t, 93800 miles, immaculate condition, lot's of stuff done.
