Hey Sanger, & welcome

It's nice to inherit such a fine car... and it looks like it's in great shape cosmetically.

-1 question.. are ya sure that the car is a 1998 and -not- a 1997? I ask becausei always thought that the 1998 touring was not available in silver, while i knowthat the 1997 q45t often was offered in silver (i almost $$ a silver 1997 touring back in 2000..)

i dunnoo... either way, enjoy your Q~ship

My 1992 Q45 has 150K miles. Dk Gray w/ gray interior. Lowered the car an inch and one half and put on a high performance suspension. Has 17 in G35 wheels on the car (looks stock) instead of the original 15 in wheels. Bought the car new, my son had it for the last 3 years, now I have it back:)

Love the wheels but not the drop because dorpping means getting bigger wheels sometimes. Delete the drop, get bigger brakes and that will be bad ***.

Just picked up a '00 Q45, don't know the color code but it's green. Plans are a mild drop & 19's.

Actually, I have Eibachs (for spring rate reasons) and KYB SR Specials and 18" OZ Racing.

It's not about static look, but dynamic function. Crashed suspensions with Panzer wheels and rubberband tires are not conducinve to improved performance. Who wants four round anchors with over loaded unsafe tires, besides the VIP crowd?

Sorry dude to bring it to you your car is a 99. The 00-01 have blacked out head lights and the steering wheel is also wood grain. But still a nice car. Mine is a 99 and i love it but i wish i spent the extra $500 to get the 00 touring edition. enjoy buddy!

My car isn't a touring or anny. edition, therefore it doesn't have the features you described. It's definitely a 2000.

Not true for 2000 if it is a standard model.

1997.5 Q45t Ivory Quartz. Bought May, 2008 with 75,000 miles. Was a Carfax One Owner, and the car was in prefect condition. It's factory stock, and I plan to leave it that way! No plans to modify or update, just keep it in the best condition possible. Love this car.

Here's my Y33. 1997 Espresso Pearl. Espelier (sp?) springs, KYB SRs, full tint (including windshield) Cima grille, JDM Nissan trunk emblem, JDM hood mascot (haven't installed yet), strut tower bar and open element air cleaner.

Don't want your engine to last too long? OEM are inexpensive form Joe and work great.

The front end looks very low. Is it? How is the ride?

My personal opinion only, but think about the mascot. They seem so ricey to me. Like it's trying to say, "If this were a Mercedes, this would be a 3 pointed star. But since it isn't, I had to use this indistinct unrelated figurine." A true tribute to early JDM manufacturer's inferiority complex. Even Mercedes is slowly getting away from it on their premium and sport models.

Quite humorous how many newbie owners think the are driving a JDM Cedric or Gloria (Y33) and not a JDM Cima (FY33) based Q45 (FGY33).

Well, it came with the car. It's a K&N, so why is my engine not going to last long? I've had several cars with the same setup that lasted forever as long as you clean them.

But, any hoo . . . I am going to do the whole VIP theme, and I dig the classiness of the mascot. As for Mercedes going away from it, I'm not trying to make the car look more modern, I'm trying to make it fit a certain style. You may think it's rice, but that's what I'm trying to emulate, so that's really all there is to that.

It's pretty low, but it rides nice, not overly stiff and bumpy. I would like the rear to be lower, but we'll see how that goes.

And what's up with the last comment? I know that it's Cima based, not Cedric, so is that aimed at me? Not quite sure what to say about that.

Here's a front shot though:

Hmm, mine does look a little lower in the front than yours. I wonder why that is. Looks nice btw.

An oiled filter is by defintion not clean, and oil is an anthema to hot wire MAF sensors. You will learn as you read the previous posts.

More simply stated, the Y33 (Cedric and Gloria) and the FY33 (Cima) are different cars, and the Y33 was never exported.

Nice color. What's the code?
