Official Altima Coupe Projector GB

Postby mcheddadi » Sun Aug 31, 2008 12:34 pm

UPDATE 3: GROUPBUY IS OVER!

UPDATE 2: If people with factory hid want to get an aftermarket colour
Brandon can do it for $20 plus there factory bulbs

UPDATE: 3 Options now! Also the group buy will last for 25 ORDERS!

Ok guys, this is it. it's finally here

This is the official Group buy thread for the altima coupe projectors custom made from Brandon!

For those who just popped up here's some vital threads:

the thread that started it all:
http://forums.altimas.org/zero...age=1

the follow up thread to gauge how many people would makes deposit for THIS Group buy:
http://forums.altimas.org/zero...age=1

If you don't want to read through all those threads here's some quick infos.

info about Brandon:

we're actually a company, theres 2 of us who do the lights, i (brandon) do the actual retrofitting and the other guy is the person to see when it comes to wiring or anything electrical. he makes up all the custom harness but also does retrofitting. we started the company about a year and a half ago, before that we did retros on the side as a hobby then we would always get asked about doing other peoples light since they where interested but didnt like the prices that light werkz charges. and eventually it turned into us becoming vendors.

here's some work he did (pictures of a lancer retrofit):
http://forums.altimas.org/zero...18987

OKI, now the GB!

There will be Three options for this GB:

- first option is a low beam setup for 400$
- second option is bi xenon setup for 500$
- third option is dual projectors for 700$

BOTH setup include free led lights that can be hooked up to the turn signals or just used as parking lights and they will be individual leds not strips that are in chrome holders. Also the painting of the housing in flat black is free if you opt to have it painted.

---------------------------------------------------------------
indepth info :

I'll post more pics as soon as I get some more from spock and Brandon but right now for the sake of showing some pics, here are the prototypes of the single low beam with how the custom shrouds should look:

The custom shrouds we can do in any color, its hard to say what the final product will look like but it will be rounded out to match projector flow a lot better. The ring can be painted what ever color the person may like along with the chrome insert around the lens which we can also do in any color, we can body match it or what not and then the back part which is black will be shaped to the projector so it has a nice flow to it.

The shroud in spocks lights was something he wanted to do extra and is something we can include for a bit more, but it will be a custom shroud on each light if not.

here are spocks shrouds btw:

The led will look like the "ironman" prototype. Brandon may go with between 3-6 depending on how it will look. There 5mm led with a chrome base around them, he has super white ones and amber ones, he can always get blue or a different color, then when the buyers want to go custom colors we can add on to that but that’s something that can be figured out with individuals after everything.

The bi xenon projectors I am using are out of a e55 mercedes and have a 3 inch lens unlike the fx which is a 2.5 but the Mercedes is a lot shorter and easier to mount so it will sit a lot better then the fx that I did for spock which in turn will make the final product look that much better. For low beams ill be looking to do either the 3 inch s4 projector or the e46 bmw projector which all are relatively the same and basically the same prices.

---------------------------------------------------------------

For deposits we need for low beam set up $250 and for bi xenon set up $300 and 400$ for dual setup. Then if the buyer needs something else like bulbs, ballasts, angel eyes or hid kit they can do it on the side with Brandon if they like. But for the group buy we just wanted to give those two options. Money orders are fine as well. Paypal is the easiest as there is no waiting time with it. Also internet wire transfers through your bank are fine as well.

In terms of sending in the lights, it would be good to set it up so the people that need theres asap can let me know and either do those ones first or last depending as I don’t want 6 sets to come in and everyone needs them the day after. But other then that I'm ready to start taking lights anytime.

Post your questions in this thread an Brandon will reply to your questions the best he can and I will update this post with the answer to the most important ones.

Please when you make a deposit post here AND in the paypal field with the following structure:

1)Low beam setup or bi-xenon setup or Dual setup
2)flat black housing or original (chrome) housing
3)white or amber leds (or custom color for extra)

first the group buy isnt going to last that long, where trying to get all the deposits in this week so then we can order it all together to keep the prices where they are. after the group buy to individually order parts the prices go up quite a bit to be honest. you can either send us your lights or buy a spare set. right now im looking into buying a spare set of lights so that way the turn around time is only a few hours once they arrive here, or if i get my hands on a few sets i can ship them out for a core fee that is refundable once you send me in your lights.

I like this idea! Any clue how much you'll be charging for angel eyes? Do you have any pics (or video) showing us how these will perform when lit up? Specifically how the LED's will look, etc...

Do you have more details on the bixenon set up? Currently, ppl with the premium package have HID as low beam only, so, when you send the bi xenon set up, will we have to buy bulbs and ballasts separately for the high beams?

If we go with the single low bean xenons, will it just be plug and play?

PS: lets make the current pics bigger for better clarity and detail!

in terms of price for angel eyes, it really depends on if you want to go with ccfl or led, also if you want 1 or 2 then it goes by colour for them as some need to be custom made. the led will look like a cross between the one ebay style light that was posted, but wont be as large, but they will be brighter and individually placed in chrome holders. they will basically go down the length of the amber piece spaced out evenly in holders like this link. those arnt the exact ones, the ones where getting have a nicer finish and a rolled edge, just gives you an idea. http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/ima...2.jpg

Also for people with premium package cars that have hid, all that you need to do is send me all of the bulbs with your light including the low beam and you will get the light back, plug and play ready. people with aftermarket hid kits, will need to get converters and bulbs but can use there aftermarket ballasts. this way it lets you keep factory items that are under warranty and saves you money as well.
we should have more pics tonight from spocks car and ill post those once i get them for everyone to see

I'm not sending money anywhere till I see the completely finished product, with demon/angel eyes and the led strips or whatnot and all.

Looks like we are still making good progress towards that however and I am excited to see the finished product.

I have some quick questions.
1) What is the difference between low beam setup and bi-xenon setup?
2) What is the difference between angel eyes and demon eyes?

And the final Question is...
What will be the price for the bi-xenon setup with shrouds, flat black housing, white LED's and either the angel or demon eyes?

I am VERY VERY interested and have the money on hand to setup the order. Hope to hear from you soon with the answers to my questions so I can set my order to get them done ASAP.

hey a low beam set up is a single projector that is just for the low beam. bi xenon is a single projector that has a high beam built into it. this is a good option for someone who does alot of back road driving at night or who just wants to upgrade to an hid high beam. everything is included in the price except the angel eyes. basically for that we charge between 50-100 for ccfl with a one year warranty and that price range is for 2-4 and varies by colour but also includes labour for them

the reason the group buy was started was because some people dont want the angel eyes done to there lights and this is for deposits to get everything rolling. as well my supplier is moving so id like to get the order in before he gets moved or else there will be some down time from him aswell for a few weeks. the projector set up for spock is the finished stage. basically the angel eyes are optional and the led is the only thing left. since the group buy has started ive already received 4 deposits in only a few hours

I want to put HID's for my high beams. So can I get a projector for my lows and another for my highs? What would the Total price be for the low beam setup with shrouds, white LED's, flat black backround and Angel or demon eyes? And if you can do projectors for my highs as well how much is the price for that and what I mentioned above plus the projectors for both low and high beams? My A/C had the premium package with HID's on the low's only. What would I have to do to make them bi-xenon for HID's low's and high's? Sorry for all the questions, but I want to get the whole great package my first time around.

they take d2s or d2r bulbs in these, if you have aftermarket hid the best thing is to sell the bulbs for 40-50 on ebay or on the forum and put that towards new bulbs for these. you can use your aftermarket ballasts with these.

For people interested in a projector set up in the high beam as well, its not a problem, just send me an email with what you had in mind and we can go from there to figure out what you need

if you dont want to do 2 projectors we can do a bi xenon set up for you that is one projector that has high and low built into it and activates via a solenoid inside of it. so theres 2 options for you. the bi xenon is the cheaper of the 2

I have a few questions for Brandon.

If the FX projectors are not used in the Bi-xenon setup, which type will be?

Is the dual setup going to be a single HID projector and a halogen projector for the high beam or dual HID projectors?

Will there be an option to color mod the projectors, for example a blue cutoff without any yellow showing?

Will there be options for different shrouds?

I doubt anyone will want to spend the money, but i have seen mini projectors without the cut-off sheild used for the turn signal. Some people with show cars might want it. I would like to see a triple projector setup on the Altima. Are you intrested in trying it out?

(Now I need to go get a 2nd job or start selling stuff on ebay)

Here's something I don't think anyone has asked yet...when you seal the lights up again, what kind of sealant do you use? Is it the same, ultra un-melty goop that Nissan uses, or is is something more pliable that will easily give way in the oven should we want to take apart our lights to further customize them?

2.5ers that don't already have HID lights will need an HID kit with bulbs ,balasts, etc, simple as that

I pretty sure he will reseal them with normal highly efficient non cement like silicone so they can be reopened more easily

As the guy who is getting work done on his car at the moment, seal that is used is the more pliable variety that will give way in the oven.

for those of you not wanting to put a deposit down until you see the demon eyes im not sure why that is. its only a minor mod that is going around the back of the projector. it will look identical to the lancer i did.

for bixenon set ups i will be using e55 mercedes as it is a very solid projector for the size and has a nice lens and a good cutoff with it.

the dual projector set up is going to be an hid low beam and a haitogen projector highbeam as you dont want an hid for the highbeam unless its a bi xenon as it takes time to get to full temperature, with a highbeam you want it bright as fast as you can get it. if you want an hid highbeam go with a bi xenon set up as its all built into one projector and it uses your factory hid bulb.

For sealing them back up i will be using black rtv silicone, so this way if i ship your lights back to you and you decide to change something its an easy to do thing and it has just as good of a seal as the nissan sealant.

if you guys have anymore questions let me know thanks
