odometer cross reference

Car: 94 nissan xe king cab 4x4

I have a 94 xe d21 with the 2.4 4cyl, 5 speed, tach, 4x4. My odometer went out (speedometer still works). can i cross this with one from a 95 pathfinder or do i have to stick to 4cyl pickup ones only?

Keep the same number of cylinders or it will be off, might need to have the same type transmission as well.
