Hello, I hope you all can enlighten me about something that happened during a Rogue test drive this afternoon.

I first test drove a Rogue in late September. Dealers had few Rogues in stock and I wasn't willing to pay close to sticker so I decided to wait.

I stopped by a dealer today and took another drive. I still really like the vehicle, but this time something odd happened. During the test drive a red light on the dash (just under the fuel meter) kept flashing. I asked the sales guy and he said it was the seatbelt indicator. We both checked our belts and they were fine - and we also got to see the seatbelt lights come on:)

At the end of the drive the salesperson said it was the airbag light. We turned the car off then on again and the light started blinking all over again.

The light appears just above the drivers seatbelt indicator. The drive lasted about 25 minutes and it flashed the whole time. Any idea what this was about?

Thanks!dk

Can you describe what the flashing light looked like? Do you remember? Was it a symbol or letters?

Sorry, I don't know, that hasn't happened in my vehicle. Could the manual brake have been on (but it would have said "Brake" in red letters)?

The airbag warning light covers the entire system: Front airbag, side impact airbag, curtain air bag, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, and all the associated sensors. There was obviously an issue with the system and it should have been checked. I agree, I wouldn't buy this particular Rogue.

Argh, I was editing my post to clairfy what I meant by "it replaced" and I deleted it accidently:

If it was the airbag light then that means the airbag system was busted. It happened to mine. Had to take it to the dealer and have it replaced (meaning the airbag control computer) and it's been working fine ever since.

Definitely sounds like an airbag light indicator to me anyway (the way it was flashing+location). Whatever the case, something was broke. I probably wouldn't purchase that particular Rogue if I were you...

Thanks for the replies. The lightdidn't say brake, and I'm pretty convinced it was the airbag light. After some further exploration of the forum last night, I found a lengthy thread about airbag lights that was informative.

Gonna take a big pass on that unit. I have my credit union searching for one just like what I want, so this one not working out is no big deal.dk
