Below is a list of Nissan Technical Service Bulletins. The complete TSB can viewed if available. You can also be obtain the TSB from the dealer, via a paid subscription to http://www.nissan-techinfo.com, and in some cases via a Google search.

Please note:- This list is intended for reference only. As always, contact your dealer if you have a concern.- These TSB's are not the same as Safety Recalls issued by Transport Canada or the NHTSA. - Many TSB's are simple service procedures and in some cases apply to multiple models. It does not mean there is a specific problem with your vehicle.- TSB's that deal with repairs may or may not be covered under warranty. Contact your dealer for detailed information.- The list will be updated periodically as new bulletins come out. The update date is shown on the title of this post.

From Nissan:
Technical service bulletins (TSBs) are issued by Nissan to assist technicians with diagnosis and repair. TSBs address specific concerns or conditions such as rough idles, noises and rattles. These specific concerns can be the result of customer or repair shop feedback. The TSB for a specific concern or condition will provide an up-to-date engineering-approved vehicle modification, repair procedure or service part.

NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008-2009 ROGUE VEHICLES. A SCREW IN THE STEERING GEAR HOUSING COVER MAY LOOSEN OVER TIME AND COULD FALL OUT. AS IT LOOSENS, THE STEERING RESPONSE OF THE VEHICLE MAY BE COMPROMISED BUT THE DRIVER WILL RETAIN STEERING CONTROL.

Consequence:THE SCREW MAY EVENTUALLY COME OUT OF THE STEERING GEAR COVER. IF LARGE STEERING INPUTS ARE MADE WITH THE COVER SCREW MISSING THE PINION SHAFT MAY COME OUT OF THE STEERING GEAR RESULTING IN A COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy:DEALERS WILL INSPECT WHETHER THE STEERING GEAR COVER SCREW IS LOOSE AND WILL BE RETIGHTENED TO THE PROPER SPECIFICATION. DEALERS WILL ALSO INSTALL A COVER PLATE TO PREVENT THE SCREW FROM POSSIBLY COMING OUT OF THE STEERING GEAR. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING NOVEMBER 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.

Transport Canada Recall # 2009303
Recall Date: 2009/10/19
Notification Type: Safety
MfrSystem: Steering
Manufacturer Recall Number:
Units Affected: 23,323
Category: SUV

Recall Details:On certain vehicles, the steering gear housing cover screw may have been manufactured out of specification and the axial tension between the screw and gear housing may deteriorate over time. This could allow the screw to gradually loosen, which will cause the steering wheel to exhibit noticeable looseness from the steering assembly. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition, the screw may eventually come out of the steering gear housing. If large steering inputs are made with the cover screw missing, the pinion shaft may come out of the steering gear. This may result in a loss of steering control, which could lead to a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect whether the steering gear cover screw is loose. If it is loose, it will be retightened to the proper specification. In addition, the dealer will install a cover plate to prevent the screw from possibly coming out of the steering gear.

For those vehicles located at dealerships or registered to owners in States that do not use a heavy concentration of road salt, Nissan is conducting this Voluntary Service Campaign. Theservice campaign repair entails replacement of the TPMS transmitter nuts at no charge for parts or labor. See this bulletin for further detail.
