Nissan Rogue Rear Hatch Door Interior Safety Escape Release

If you were to ever crawl into your trunk, and were locked inside - there is a way to get out from the rear.
Believe it or not, just a week ago i had to use this method of "escape" after camping in my car. I layed the rear seats down and laid out my sleeping bag and went to sleep with the rear hatch/door open just a crack. over night i must have had a breeze and the rear door/hatch closed. i awoke to be locked inside my car LOL - then i remembered this easy way out is to do the fallowing:

1. Image
from the rear - this is pretty self explanatory.

2. Image
i carry a pocket knife, but this can be done with the car key as well - or any screw driver. (just force that plastic cover out towards you and remove it)
Image
personally, i think its easier with the plastic just to go from the side using my knife.
(just force that plastic cover out towards you and remove it)

3. Image
once you opened up the area - located that white box that you see.

4. Image
find that tab my finger is one and slide it to the right

5. Image
it might take a little bit of finger power - but once you do this, this manually over-rides the hatch and it opens the lock!

failing to see how you can get locked in the back of an suv?

either climb yourself over the rear seats or put them down, then you can access the door switch in the front.

nice to know if it wouldn't open from the outside, but to escape, I just have to LOL.

i wasnt "trapped" for my life, but i didnt have shoes on; and i didnt wanna walk in the dirt via the side doors. this made for an easy way out to my campsite where my shoes were.

this is also a good thing to know just in case your vehicle over-turns.
