Postby zcomfort » Wed Apr 04, 2012 9:29 am

I have done some searching here and google and google I didn't get anywhere. Well I was looking at getting the 350z nismo wheels with the 350z gold brembo brakes for my g35.Image What do you think?

In your case, putting the Brembo's on will require a custom bracket for the front. You are better off buying the AKEBONO kit that comes on the G37S, it will bolt directly up to your 07 g35 sedan. As far as the wheels go, they will work, but you will have to lower the car and adjust camber accordingly to get the rear to look right as it is an aggressive offset/width for the car. I run the same width/offset in the back of my 2004 g35 sedan and had to go with a 265/35/19 and it fits like a glove. You can read up on the installation of the AKEBONO kit here http://infinitig37.com/akebono-big-brake-swap.html. That is my car that we are installing the kit on and like you I was in the opposite boat. I had to have a custom bracket up front to adapt the brakes to the v35 chassis.

Let me know if you have any additional questions on the kit.

RED_DET, thanks, that was a nice write up. I was leaning towards the AKEBONO kit. I just thought it look like the factory calipers on a z32 and didn't think it was of any sorts an upgrade. Though really Im looking for an equal or greater performance in a brake kit to factory that would look good behind my wheels. So the AKEBONO kit may be the one for me. I know conceptZ can get the powdercoated for $320 I think.

Newb question, I don't know much about almost anything on any g35. When it comes to fitting the wheels and tires, you said I would have to adjust camber arms to get the rear to look right. Does that mean I'll have to buy aftermarket suspension upgrades to do so?

I am running -2.5* camber in the rear and could get away with -2.0* but I wanted the tires as flush as possible to the fenders. Obviously you can get a tad bit more aggressive on the newer body style g35 so static rear camber around -1.8-2.0 should work for you. You won't need adjustable rear arms unless you are trying to go even lower on those numbers, say like -1 or -1.5, which would be very close to OEM specs. There is some adjustment in the rear already and as you lower the car you will increase negative camber. The AKEBONO kit is much larger than the Brembos and much cheaper in comparison. I still see used Brembo setups selling for $1200-$1400. As I stated earlier, a front custom bracket would be necessary and I don't know anyone that makes such a bracket because most are trying to upgrade from brembo's to AKEBONO.

I sell the complete AKEBONO kit as well.

Complete Kit includes the following:
Akebono G37s front calipers
Akebono G37s rear calipers
*OEM front hardware kit
*OEM rear hardware kit
Stoptech slotted 14" front rotors
Stoptech slotted 13.8" rear rotors
Hawk HPS front pads
Hawk HPS rear pads
Stoptech Stainless steel brake lines
*hardware kits include shims, pins & spring clips*

FREE liter of stoptech str600 dot 4 brake fluid with complete brake kit order.

Price is $1850 shipped within U.S.

Obviously powder coating a different color will be around $300 depending on the color.
