Hello everyone I'm new to the forums I came across this forum while looking for answers and possible solutions to my aunt's Nissan quest problem.. Jumping right into it, She has a second gen Quest with the later face styling now when the gas is pressed there is a kind of screech sound coming from the belt side of the engine. The belts are all new and the adjustable pulley has been replaced but I still get the same sound. I was thinking maybe it could be some sort of pulley bearing? or maybe the timing tensioner anyone have an idea as to where this noise could be coming from and how I would go about replacing it? I recorded a video of the noise also how would I go about posting it up here? Thanks

Assuming the belts are tensioned properly and the pulleys are not contaminated, is the sound a short chirp or a long squeal? Does it happen when you turn the vehicle or when you engage the air conditioner?

My A/C clutch seized causing a squeal and I had to replace the compressor. Otherwise, I have had contamination on the pulleys cause some squealing. Once cleaned (or dry) the squealing went away.

Check your compressor pulley and power steering pump.
