It was time to upgrade the rims some so I went with something a little bit different and put some new tsw 19 inchers on. I also tinted the side markers and did the license plate bulbs with leds. they look REALLY bright, but in real life they are not as bright. The side markers are completely tinted, they just may not look it due to the flash of the camera at times.

Looks good. The wheels remind me of Alpinas.

heh...you know I always wondered why you guys upgraded your license plate bulbs. If anything, I try to find the dimmest, dungiest, barely visible lights possible because if they can't read it they can't report it.

Hi, I have a 2001 SE..........I used to have a 2002 SE.........I miss the front headlight look and brightness. I've heard you can't just put the stock ones in without changing the wiring?......did you use stock lights? If not, did you have to change the wiring or can you just plug them in? Where can I get the lights you used?

ThanksWalter

Awesome rims! I like the smoked sidemarkers, too. I'd do that to mine, but I don't like the all black look. I like shiney things, so I've been looking for the clear sides

That looks awesome. Was it difficult to put in the LEDs? I've been thinking about doing something like this to my I30 after seeing all the LED plate lights on the new Lexus models.

Nope. They are just replacement bulbs with 4 leds on each of them

Where can I find them? And you said in your first post that they aren't as bright, I assume you meant not as bright as in the pictures. They are brighter than the original lights though I take it?

Thanks for the link. Which LED bulbs did you used and were they easy to install? Any problems with power draw? I know some people have had power issues with LEDs...

My only concern would be that they look really blue in your pic which I think looks awesome but might get me pulled over. Are they blue or more blue/white like on the new Lexus models?

They aren't really blue maybe a hyper white with a hint of blue. Easy to install, just like replacing a blown bulb and the ones I got were the fourth ones down:4- Star SMT

Those are just the stock 2k-2k1 se tail lights and the tint job was done by myself with a tint spray called "Nite Shades"

Are you running 3000k Hid fogs? They look pretty bright if they are halogens. I bought 6 feet of smoke overlays so I can do the front and back lights on my I35. Nobody sells a precut so I bought bulk roll and doing it myself.

Fogs have the Lexus capsules in them. No Hids.

Nice rims - do you have spacers? and do you have any rubbing issues with them? (full load style)
