Since my bottom half was already black i just needed to paint the top half and i used about 9 cans but maybe 12 for the whole body take or leave a few. Make sure you use rustoleum though! Its good with gas spills and its doesn't run as easily as krylon. Rusto is more thick. Just ask the graff guys, they use rusto for those reasons.240sxJoe91 wrote:Not bad...my paint is kinda crappy....lol so im looking to do the same on a week of school...how many cans did you use?
Funny thing that you like them, i miss the base model seats from my last coupe. They felt more hug-able and comfy lollocoluna825 wrote:coooool, i like your taillights. and your front licence plate light, and and your SE seats
320 grit and worked my way up to 600 grit.240sxJoe91 wrote:sweet what did you use to sand it with?...ill def keep that in mind..
not getting the name of the cemetery but good job looks gooduser name! wrote:BTW did anyone notice the name of the cemetery?
The other guy on here said that the rusto clear actually lifted his paint but ill go ahead and buy a can sometime soon to try it for myself!speedeast wrote:So... are we talking a cemetery for obese people or just a massive cemetery!?
Nice job, you should have cleared it afterwords. Rustoleum makes a clear enamel that meets your same standards.

Yeah im on the fence about it but black is a new thing for me and that two tone black and graphite might look better than the black and white once its cleared and finished. You cant tell in the pictures but that white was more dull than my black paint. And its more fun to cleanS13Teddy wrote:I feel that it looked cleaner before :/
I went out and took pictures just for you! Ha. I went a little over board on ms paint. But if your like me, pictures with bright words and cute colors help out.Nis-240sx-san wrote:Hey, I have the same sides, I'm just wondering if you can explain how you got them to sit the way they are? I love how they look.
Please don't take any of this the wrong way. This is not meant as an insult, mainly an observation.user name! wrote:Wait, the paint quality itself? Or that actual color choice? I'm confused! You mean the b&w looked better quality? or it was a better color combo?
Late reply but.. Whoa, whoa, observation or not, that was harsh. The car itself is not haggard, janky, or half-cracked. Unless you didn't mean "cracked" in the literal term. My coupe has straighter lines and less dings than a lot of nico, or my friends. The paint is the only thing holding it back from its real shape and don't think i really WANT it to look like a half a**'ed car. I plan on clearing it possibly with an automotive paint from an air gun, or just have my friend spray it the two tone that i want it in. But believe me, the car looks better in person. And I'm actually the ONLY black coupe out of the 20 other 240 guys in the area I'm in. Rattle can white is the official color of "jank" in my neck of the woods. And the people that have seen it in b&w in person, say they like it better now than before. I just wish the pictures didn't make it look worse than it really is =/ Your car has been in the same boat as mine, so this is in no way, its final form.S13Teddy wrote:

It seems that most "Haggard, half-cracked, janky" S13s are rattle canned black. It's almost like, the official color of jank. You may or may not want to be associated with that.
That's the way I see it.
I never said your car was jank. Your car looks good actually. I just stated my observation that many other S13s that are rattle canned black are jank is all.user name! wrote:Late reply but..
