Although there have been numerous posts of poor MPG with the G35's, I have not found that to be the case.Round trip from New Jersey to West Palm Beach Florida was 2790 miles and used 112.30 gallons of regular 87 octane = 24.845 MPGThe two best tankfuls were 27.90 between Florida and Georgia and 27.50 between North Carolina and New Jersey. The MPG was slightly better heading north. Best price was $3.19 in Georgia and highest was in Palm Beach County Florida at $3.45 per gallon. Presently $3.09 back in New Jersey. Was $2.97 when I left.

I love my G almost as much as Jacko loves his and I don't have to flog it to make it love me.

That's not bad at all. If you used 112 gallons that should be about 6 fill ups. 2 of those averaged about 27.5. If you factor that into the overall 24.8, then you averaged about 23.5 for the other 4 tanks. What accounted for the 4 mpg difference?

The stuff we left in Florida and perhaps the prevailing wind? We may have had a southern wind flow on the return trip?I checked my records for the previous round trip in May072833 miles traveled and used 114.947 gallons = 24.64 MPG averageBest MPG on a tankful on that trip was 28.83 MPG betweeen SouthCarolina and Florida and 27.30 MPG between North Carolina and New Jersey. The G35 seems to get pretty good mileage on the road. If I let the wife use it which is rare & she uses it for short trips starting and stopping frequently the MPG does drop considerably. In short keep the wives away and drive steady between 75 & 80 MPH and it gets pretty good gas mileage for a powerful full size vehicle.

You are gonna get your highest averages on the freeway on long distance trips because you are spending less time getting ZERO miles per gallon - like when you are stopped. The G's gas mileage in the city is just a couple MPGs better than my Quad Cab Dodge Ram 4 X 4 Truck.

I drove my G cross country and averaged over 26 MPGs for the entire trip. City driving almost cuts that in half.

For the record the G35 is no full size vehicle

I don't think the G35/37 inheriently gets poor gas milage. It just lends itself very well to aggressive driving  which unfortunately causes poor gas milage.

I've averaged very near 21 mpg for the duration of my ownership using 91 octane 99% of the time. Best ever was probably 24ish which consisted of nearly all freeway. I bought this car to spice up my daily commute so I don't mind paying extra in gas. It's kind of like throwing down $1500 for the latest and greatest big screen TV. Yes, I'm going to spend a few more dollars to get the blu-ray version of the movie to watch it in 1080p.

I do applaud you for staying efficient with your driving habits, but I'm sure you let it rip every once in a while. And that's when you know you made the right choice... because (maybe some would call me unreasonable) there are some cars out there I wouldn't drive even if they got free gas.

Both my 06 and my current G37S are fun cars to drive. Excellent handling when on off and on ramps downshifting prior to curves and accelerating into the curves. Very comfortable when behind the wheel for 10 to 12 hours on our trips to Florida. I do not abuse vehicles even on the rare occurrence when driving a loaner from the dealer.

Yes, I was pleasently surprised how good of a cruiser the G35 turned out to be. I was slightly worried initially due to the slightly stiffer ride (although I'm young so I guess it's more forgiving now) and a present engine sound. However, it's nothing overbearing, and I find the seats very comfortable which helps a lot.

My favorite part about the car is the handling. Very agile/responsive steering and the right amount of feedback in my opinion.

I'm hoping I can make my '04 last another 5 or 6 years (for reliable DD circumstances) and then find a really good example of a '13 6MT.
