Hey there!
I've been lurking around here for quite a while..... no idea why it's taken me this long to post but I've had my 2.5 coupe for almost 2 years and finally have some stuff to show off as well as a few questions!

First I'll intro my baby,

She's a 2008 2.5 with a few simple mods done already, with some bigger mods coming in the very near future.

Mod list so far:
Custom eyelids
8000K HIDs
Yellow Fogs
Smoked tails
Image
Image

Within the next couple weeks I plan on getting a set of new shoes for the coupe (springs and c-mod grille to be installed as well). I'm not saying what they'll be yet, but the size will be 18x9.5 +12 all around. :dblthumb:
Now here's my question. I'm looking for a little bit of stretch, so I'm thinking a set of 235/40/18's would be good all around for a nice even fitment, but I'm not too keen in the tire department so any suggestions would be really helpful! :) Also any suggestions on tire brands and models that have been know to hold up would be cool to know as well!

Thanks everyone!

Hey welcome to Nico!

Great mods so far! I love the coupe and sometimes I wish I had an "08 model rather than my "11, there's a lot of kits for your model year.

I really don't know much about tire and wheel fitment, I've only recently started considering getting new wheels for my coupe. Hopefully somebody will chime in and help, I know that your sizes sound really aggressive and for more help on tire sizes visit tyrestretch.com and see what people have mounted on wheels your size!

Hey! thanks :) yeah, I absolutely love my car, so I wanna make sure everything comes out just right.
I've actually checked out that site before, that's basically how I arrived at that size I mentioned before, along with using a tire size calculator.

Nice plasti-dip job by the way! looks good!

Isn't 8000k illegal? I mean so is 6000k I think but isnt that less noticeable than 8000k? Just asking cuz I'm finally going to change mine from stock to 6kk or 8kk soon. Only thing I've done is tint the windows to 15% all around over a year ago...just had no time to do anything else.

NJ PEOPLE! :wavey: I’m in Matawan/Aberdeen NJ! Where are you at? And thanks I will have to look into those brands, are those brands good candidates for stretching?

Well I mean I have had my 8000k for about five months now, and nobody has given me a problem so far!(knock on wood) lol As far as being legal, I’m really not too sure. Hey, like I said I haven’t had a problem yet lol. But if I’m not mistaken, I’m almost positive that 6000k are brighter than 8000k because the white is the brightest hid temp. However, people flash me all the time because they think my higbeams are on lol.

I'm from Woodland Park, Passaic county 1 hour away from you I think, dunno about the others but they're close to me. LMK when you wanna start showing off your whip at meets :mike

Those brands are good, however, I dunno about stretching them. I've heard stretching the tires is bad/risky?

I feel like you may have some fitment issues with this. well...at least it'll stick out quite a bit.

Nice to see that you took a pic of those yellow foglights. I'm thinking about doing that but wasn't sure how it would look.

What’s life without a little risk? ;) Hehe, and alright that’s not too far away, I would love to come to meets there! Sounds like a good time!

Yeah I’ve been a little worried about that :ohno: I mean there’s nothing wrong with a little poke :dblthumb: , but hopefully it won’t be too extreme! I’m just looking for a really aggressive setup. Thanks for the advice though, I will definitely look more into that. Do you think I'm going to have to roll my fenders? Errrr.

Woohoo same color! :chuckle: and yeah! You should definitely go for it! I <3 my yellow fogs! Just make sure you don’t get them from ebay because I made that mistake and the shop had to make custom brackets and what not to fit them in the actual opening! Lol a two hour job turned into an eight hour job! lol

Hi.

No doubt you'll need to roll rears. Might have to pull rears also. Idk how much more you can roll the fronts cause they're pretty flat as is. You're gonna have to pull them though for +12 on 9.5. You might get away with not having to pull fronts on 215/35. But thats on the more extreme end of a 9.5 stretch. Idk how the bead will hold in the winter where you live. 215/35 on 9.5 isn't that uncommon but idk how common it is in colder places.

You might be able to get away with 235/40 in rears. I think nismoxgs (his name's Michael, forgot his username) runs 235/35 on 9.5 in rears and is fine. Not sure though. 235/40 in fronts will almost for sure give you issues without fender work.

But then again, you're gonna be on 18's... I think most of what I said will still apply but you'll probably be able to get away with less issues than those of us on 19s. But if you're going for the full look, 18s are too small. Our cars don't go as low as others and 18s dont help. 18s +235/40 might eliminate most of your wheel gap. But idk how you feel about beefy tires ;)

I have 235/35/19 on 19x9.5
Falken 452s
However I'm running a +40 offset. +12 in the front would for sure need fender pulling. Mine were almost perfect to the fender. +30 or +35 would be perfect I think

What you need for your next mod is a set of dual projector headlights with color matched housings. That would look so good! Check out Dangeris Lumenations and shoot them an email... (I know...shameless plug :couch:)

Hey, I'm a noob too! Also just got a 2012 white coupe. I've wanted an Altima for quite awhile now and I'm pretty stoked to start adding on mods. I had a Sentra before and did absolutely nothing with it, so I'm starting off slow with this car.

I'm currently looking into rear tail light tints. I saw the picture of your tail lights at the top and I like that darkness but not sure if the contrast is too much for me since my car's white. But how dark are yours? Are those the dark smoke ones? And where'd you get them? I like how the white light isn't covered, it looks great with the silver.

Anyone else tint their rear lights with a white coupe? How strong are they? I seriously cannot make up my mind. Anyone have any suggestions??

Also while I'm at it, anyone add angel eyes to their tail lights or some kind of LEDs?

Thankss!!

Welcome aboard, ladies!

I'm sure the site's co-owner (nissangirl74) will pop in and say HI soon...

A couple thoughts real quick: Carlisle event is this weekend, be there! There's a NJ group caravan (lots of Alty Coupe owners). Also, 4500-5000K is the brightest - 8K has a lot of blue in it. Looks cool, but not great for long-range visibility.

Carry on! :)

Thanks everyone for helping me out, :bigthumb: I really appreciate it! Okay guys SO I changed my mind from the feedback I’ve been getting and I don’t want to roll or pull my fenders just yet. So I’m pretty sure I decided on 19x9.5 with +22 offset in the rear and a +30 offset in the front! And lowering it on springs as of now till I save my money! So what’s everyone think? Hopefully my plan works this time hehe!

Let me know whenever a meet is going down, I'll definitely wanna go! No, I’m not lowered yet. But I’m going for eibach when I get my wheels! Might as well have the shop do it all in one day!

Thanks, and my taillights are actually custom. I went to a place that specializes in window tinting and audio but they also did taillights. I had them leave the reverse lights out, just bc I like the style! Go for it, I think it would look awesome on white :chuckle:
