New G35 Coupe owner

Postby watershedauto » Fri Feb 05, 2010 9:07 pm

I just purchased an 04 G35 Coupe with the sport package. I wanted to know if anybody has any advice on maintenance or any general knowledge that I should be aware of. Any info or advice would be great!

Welcome!!!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get her for? She's a beaut!

Just change the oil regularly. Did the previous owner do the 60k maintenance? (probably not)

It might be a good idea as it's a 6 year old car.

The other issue with the 30-04's is the stereo head deck. Search the forum for more specifics.

Thats the same story wit my car. 2004 wit almost 60k miles. Had it for 2 years and the only issue ive had is the CD Player. Stay on top of your oil changes and you should be good

thanks for the advice guys i will definitely be on top of the oil changes. I hear that the V.Q motors are pretty bulletproof.

My other question is: Have you guys heard of the Nissan Ester oil? It is recommended for all VQ motors but is it really better than a mobile one or any other synthetic?

dont open up the oil debate...

if you search the forums you will find many oil threads... from what i gather just use a good full synthetic oil... Mobil One EP and royal purple are the popular ones... ester oil is the best if you can afford to use it regularly and is mainly targeted to the G37s new engine...

Ester oil is not needed in any VQ engine. However, if you have a G37 that has loud startup chatter, ester oil will help keep it quiet.

Use a good synthetic (Royal Purple, AMSOIL) and you'll be happy.
