Specs:
Windows 7
AMD Phenom II X6 3.2 Ghz processor
1 TB Hard Drive
1 GB NVIDIA GTS 450 GPU (Probably getting upgraded, throwing this card in a computer I am giving my brother)
4 GB DDR3 RAM (Definitely getting upgraded, to at least 8 Gigs, probably gonna go 12)
24X DL DVD+/-RW Drive
Onboard sound (definitely getting upgraded)

Hmm....can't think of anything else. Pics to come. Can't wait for it to get here!

Cool!

AMD runs a little hotter so make sure you have proper cooling in the case.

I'm sure the onboard sound is HD, so it should be all you need.

How much you pay and where did you get it? No blu-ray player/burner?

No blu-ray burner or player...might upgrade that to.

Received the computer today, and man it flies.

Upgraded the video card from a geforce gts 450 to a geforce gtx 550 ti

next is going to be the ram, probably going as high as 16 gigs. So this thing is going to be a beast for at least a year.

GTX 550 ti is a GREAT bang for your buck card right now!

Look at your current ram usage under max load (gaming) and multiply that by 30%. That will be all the ram you will ever need.

I have 12GBs (/w a 1GB HD 5670) and only manage to ever use 6GBs under max load, you most likely will never need 16GBs.

Are you planning to overclock?

Probably not, don't really like messing with stuff like voltages and the bios.
On the other hand I've seen that I can overclock to 4 Ghz safely (with a little more cooling of course), but I probably still wont.

So I overclocked the processor to 3.7 ghz and bumped the video card's core clock up a bit. No heat issues as of yet. Went overboard and bought the 16 GB corsair vengeance RAM kit, way over kill, but meh whatever. And they're DDR3 1600 instead of the 4gb of DDR3 1333 RAM. So this thing should absolutely fly.

installed the 16 gigs of ram, damn those corsair vengeance sticks are huge!
Had to edit the bios real fast to make the ram run at 1600 instead of 1333, and boosted the voltage to 1.6v.

So now the video card and ram are taken care of. Time to find a soundcard, and maybe a wireless card.

Wow!

Looking good. What OS are running?

If 7, can you do a windows experience, and post a screenshot of your computers rating? ^^!

Make sure you get a Sandy Bridge system.

Yeah that's what I'm going for.

This computer wasn't exactly the best for overclocking, but I got it stable at 3.8 ghz and a 2400 mhz cpu nb slight overclock. Runs pretty nasty.

Also, make sure to get a SSD. Vertex III would be nice....

This is hilarious! When I was younger, I kept computers longer than I did women, but 9 days? You sir must be a pimp.

Haha, was wondering when someone was going to bring that up.

After I was asked if I was going to overclock and I said no, I discovered the cool world of overclocking and found out my motherboard, cpu, RAM configuration was not well suited for overclocking

Then I discovered Intel's I7 and I7 extreme processors and fell in love. Right now though, it would be fine if I didnt sell this rig, I turned back all my overclocks to factory because I don't want a premature death of my system.

Yeah I think I am going to upgrade to Sandy Bridge here pretty soon. I currently have an Athlon X4 3.0GHz Quad Core, I am looking to replace it with the Core i5 2500K. The new Sandy Bridge i5 2500 is faster then the original i7 so I should be thoroughly impressed.

Gigabyte- GA-770T-USB3...not to great as I have figured out, cant overclock the cpu northbridge over 2400 mhz, have tried all sorts of voltages and configurations, yet mostly every time ending in failure and me having to reset my bios because my computer wouldn't go on.
