Thanks guys. No spacers needed.450GT wrote:Amazing . Did you spacers?
In regards to 20's the next step up for sidewalls would be 245/40/20 & 275/35/20. This setup would give you the same sidewall as the standard 19" stock wheels & tires. On Teins they barely will fit without rubbing. I know this because I test fitted a set. It works well but you have to like the look of a thick sidewall on a 20" wheel. Also, performance will suffer in terms of handling.Sportin’ 35 wrote:in my opinion, this setup looks much better
It looks really nice man. sweet setup, but i'm curious. I'm guessing that the roads out your way are fairly flat and smooth, being that you are in the Southwest. I'm over here in Virginia, and I can't say too many good things about the roads around here. We have LOTS of Bridges and tunnels, and most of these have huge bumps or gaps on the approach, and sometimes on them.
Do you have any suggestions for something with a little bit more sidewall thickness. I drive my car sensible, but it would be a PITA if I had to slow down at piece of broken pavement in daily driving. Or do you think the 285/30's will be ok. I'm open to suggestions.. I don't have rims yet, but when I get back home in December, I plan to either purchase a set of have a set waiting on me..
Thanks in advance...
The VVS-085 are Vossens nicest looking wheel in my opinion. I'd scoop that up in plain silver then trade with me for my VVS-078's.Luminor wrote:Simply amazing. Im also lowered on H-tech and its a perfect drop for those wheels. I had my eye on vossens for a while, just found out they released a new rim similar to yours, model VVS-085, which Im considering.
You might try reading the post properly and then even your arrogant butt will realize they are NOT stretched.maxnix wrote:Falkens are a pretty middle of the road subpar tire manufacturer (read the tests) and streching distorts the profile for which they were designed, so now their performance is degraded even more.
Of course, those dumb tire engineers don't know nearly as much as us much more clever chaps!
Thanks for the input Guy.. I have a friend or two with some Dubbed up Lexus's. I'll speak with them and get their perspective on the driving experiences around our area, I'm guessing atleast one if not both of them are ridding on 35's or 30's.. Again thanks for the input. BTW.. Whats next on your to do list.. It's looking good so far..07sportm35 wrote:

I personally believe you'd be better off sticking with a nice 19" setup if the roads are a nightmare where you live. Then run 255/40's for even more added protection.
Thanks for the compliments.
If you buy the correct offset wheels, you never need spacers! Far better to do it that way.450GT wrote:Amazing . Did you spacers?
My pleasure and you're welcome pal. Remember, profile gets multiplied by tire width for overall sidewall height. Profile is a percentage. So if the tires are realy wide, then the sidewall gets bigger.Sportin’ 35 wrote:

I have been listening to you and agree wholeheartedly. You spoke of scrub radius. Doing the math means go wider on your wheel to get more flush with the wheelwell while maintaining (as close as possible) the original factory offsets.szhosain wrote:

I appreciate you looking out for me my newly lowered brotha . Some day I will "curb" my wheels. When that day comes I'll...well let's just say I'll improvise.Backdoc7 wrote:07sport...
Looks great.. having just lowered my 45 on Tein HT's.. wheels are next.. I was speaking with my wheel guy who told me he love's vossen's for the price but warned me "do not curb those wheels".. sounds like simple advise but I've curbed most wheels i've had at least once.. and always had them buffed/fixed here locally. however, the vossen's he said have a stainless steel lip that "wrinkles" when you hit the curb, and does not fix easily. I'm sure your a much better driver than I, so you won't have to worry about that! Just be extra careful with that awesome setup. In regards to the above poster.. I love the vvs-085's too. and yes.. they will be in silver if i get them! hope all's well for you in the desert!Bill.
yes.. we all curb them at one time or the other.. the aluminum lips are easy to fix however.. believe me.. iv'e done my share of fixing. Your gonna have to give me a quick lesson on posting pic's..... i think on this forum you have to host the pic somewhere right? who do you use for that? also. what size do you load, your pic's are always the perfect size. man, i like the 82's and 85's.. i will give them a call.. maybe the 85 was designed to fit the bbk.07sportm35 wrote:

I think those VVS-085's are just gorgeous. I hate to say it, but you are going to put me to shame if and when you get those--well at least til a curb shows up.
Right now I pull up to the curb a great distance away(almost in the middle of the street therefore risking the whole rear end being smashed). Then back up utilizing my passenger side mirror that is tilted down. If this can't be accomplished, I simply go back home into the garage.
You are such the tease. Where are the lowerd pics? Be sure to hit me back before you cement the deal on wheels.
I use "PHOTOBUCKET,COM". It's easy and free. Join their site and call or e-mail me if you have any questions.Backdoc7 wrote:

I appreciate the compliment but many on this board use their brains when it comes to wheels...unfortunetly(should use someone else's in some cases). But all kidding aside please don't worry about my sidewalls or their lack of.NBP45 wrote:Wow...someone actually used their brain when making a decision on a set of wheels for their M....I must say the wheels look really good, its aggressive but at the same time clean and fits the M really well. I only worry about the sidewall height of the tires, if possible go with taller tires...it may make it look even more aggressive and protect the wheels better. I've seen some others with 20-22" wheels on this site that looks awful or looks like wheels that belong on a truck.
...that will teach ya. It has been crazy my friend. I tried 245/40 with 275/35 and it looked awful and handled even worse(on Yoko's).fiveliterbeater wrote:so let me get this straight: i disappear from this website for a few days and i come back and 07sportM35 decides to get new rubber and make his M look even better than before?????? good choice on the tires man; and Falkens huh? never knew they where that good; ill look into them...excellent shots man; you need to take some back out on the road again when you get some free time : )
Thank you.Popsickle wrote:07sportm35: Your setup looks nice! What tire sizes are you using now? I just got my 20s (front-8/rear-10) in and was just checking to see what a good tire size would be. Have you felt any tramlining with those Falkins? Thanks, D
