needing new tires.. suggestions on size?

i just picked up a set of 16" eagle alloy wheels from a guy locally.. literally for 30$ with 2 tires good and 2 that are bad.. they were spray painted flat black and look like s***.. tomorrow i will be removing the crappy paint job and painting them gloss white.. anyways..
the tire it has on the rims are 195/55/16.. it seemed to match up well with the stock steelies i have on there now.. but any recommendations on going with a wider tire or taller or shorter.. im looking for similar height as i dont want to be messing with the rpm's.. what would be the best matched size for the hatch?
