Hi Everyone, I live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and I want to tint my Nissan Versa Hatchback. I was quoted $350-425 for tinted windows. Can you recommend me , is that reasonable price ? or Anyone who have any recommend shop in this area , please help.

Your quotes are definately too expensive. Shop around... it pays. I was originally quoted $350 because the Versa has 10 windows. I went to another shop and was quoted $190. I asked about the first shop, and they guy said it's just a scam. There are 10 windows (including the windshield), but he said the windows on the back door would be one large cut, then trimmed to fit the two seperate panes of glass once it's installed, and the two small triangular windows near the front mirrors would be tinted with scraps left over from the front windows.

Sorry I can't recommend a local shop for you, but definately shop around. Most shops will quote you prices over the phone, too. Good luck!

I paid $239 for all but front windshield at the same place I've had 6 done previously. They've been around since 1975 here in nashville, and offer a lifetime warranty and do superb work.

Your original quotes are way too high, probably someone who charges by the cut rather than the size of the vehicle or windows.

Your price range should be somewhere from $150-$250, so shopping around and asking other locals about reputable shops may net you something good.

Stop by the Regional forums section of NICOClub, find your local region, and ask there... you'll have a lot more local people to talk to there.

In Canada, I was quoted $250 for a Versa at Ziebart Tidy Car because of the two additional little windows up front. However, since I've had several previous vehicles tinted there, they did the Versa for $200. I couldn't be happier with the job these folks do and the film they use is highly scratch resistant. Have never had any colour changing, fading, or bubbling since I started using them in 1991.

Hi All,

New guy here, got my Versa 3 weeks ago and I got my windows tinted here in California for $160! I think $350 bucks is crazy! I got 35% in front and I think 25% in back and they did the corner windows on the house. In case anyone is interested: Black SL with CVT and I'm getting 30 mpg combined.

Hi Sendlena,

The guy who did it for me said it is the highest quality 3M film made, he also gave me a liftime warranty on the job which I'm very happy with. It is 35% in front annd I think 25% in back, I had 3 choices: 35%, 25%?, and Limo tint which was way too dark.I would like to post an omage of my car but the insert image button is not working! , sorry

All you have to do is put the link to the image in between those.

And I replied to your email and gave you the number/name of the shop in Winston. I haven't had my Versa done yet, but they did do the 4 side windows on my convertible.
