Need Help With My Gauges !

Hello - I have a 1997 Nissan Hardbody, and I need to remove the gauge cluster to add a little aftermarket flare to it ! :-) Problem is.....I have no idea how to get the gauge cluster out. Can someone help me ???? Thank you so much !!!!

Take off plastic around steering column,4 screws on underside,then remove the lower plastic of dash,one screw by hood release and one under ebrake handle,then just pull plastic pierce towards u,for the trim bezel there are two screws in the top and one on each side,with that out u should be able to see the 4 screws holding the cluster in,with those out u just have to unplug the wiring harnesses from the backside of the clust,mine is a 96 and has two I think,been awhile since I took mine out.

Your instructions worked great !!!! However....my impatience caused me to crack the clear lens that covers the gauge cluster :-( Now I need to figure out were to get a new lens. Than k you so much again for your help ! Everything you said to do worked PERFECTLY ! :-) All my best to you !

Since you were so helpful with my first question, maybe you can help me with this one too......As I stated I have a 1997 Nissan Hardbody 4X2 2.4L. The gauges I have are the VERY simple ones....Speedo in the middle, fuel on the left, and Temp on the right. When I pulled them out yesterday, I saw 3 plugs going into the back of them. My question for you is.....If I bought the "bigger" gauge cluster (The version with a tach in it too), would it work on my truck if I just plugged it in ? Or would it take some modification ? Thank you again for all your help....I truly appreciate it ! :-)
