Hi everyone, I'm new here. I'm getting a 240 in about a month and I'm going all motor on the KA(stock engine). I want a very deep and throaty exhaust that doesn't sound ricey. I was thinking the N1 and I was woundering what other peoples opinions are about the Apex N1. Any thoughts are appreciated.:)

I've heard some good things about this exhaust but the single canister I've heard is very loud if you don't have the silencer. The Dual N1 seems much softer but it costs more $$$

I have the N1 dual, i think it sounds great. I personly like the 2 smaller canisters on the end then one really big one.

I have the N1 single, which I chose because the y-pipe of the dual apparently could cause some minor problems with a turbo setup, but I love it even without my turbo on it, the piping is freaking huge, so you might want to stick to the dual if your not going to put a turbo on it...

its loud, but it gets quiter after it cures.

What are the benifits of the dual when going all motor? How big is the piping? I have heard that it has no cat on it, is that illegal? I have no emmision tests, where I live so I have heard that you don't need a cat. Is that right?

Well there are 3 parts to an exhaust, the header, the CAT, and then the exhaust (piping, resonator, mufler, and tip). the N1 daul has a 3" pipe to a Y spit/resonator combo, to 2 2.5" pipes, with 4" canisters, with a 3.5" tip. you can get a test pipe to replace your CAT, or just get a preformance CAT.

well, the benifit of the dual for N/A applications is that the smaller pipe size will help retain mid range HP and torque, whereas you will lose a little bit with the standard N-1 or GT series.

depends on what your going to do with it, do you nwat high end HP or low end torque, or something in between.

gereral rule of thumb:the larger the pipe size, the great the flow capacity, but the lower the flow velocity, IE larger pipe=higher HP, lower torque

A 2.25" pipe, or even a 2.5" pipe should flow good for n/a applications, without much of a loss of torque...my N-1 system in 3" piping from apex-i, and I wouldnt ahve bought such a large system except that I plan on using a turbo later...
