So a while back a friend on my mine payed me $100 to rebuild and paint some Z32 calipers he bought. Unfortunately he ended up wrapped his S14 around a pole. He's now retired from Nissan's and going back go the honda scene (i know heinous) BUT let me keep the calipers. :dblthumb: So I rebuilt them and finally in the process of painting. He swore they were 30mm calipers but turns out they're the N/A 26mm ones. I know the 30mm brake swap doesn't improve much but offering a better selection of brake pads and aesthetics. So would going down to 26mm be a huge downgrade? Should I go ahead buy some hawks brake pads in thow em on my G50 or just make a profit and sell them?

Do you just have the fronts? I would just sell them and make money because its not an upgrade really. Just get some Axxis Metal Master or hawk pads for the Q calipers and maybe some centric cryo rotors and you should have a very good brake setup. Also don't forget you have to buy the S13 conversion lines which are $79.

Now the rear calipers would be a good upgrade because they are two piston and the rotor is vented. Looking at the rotor specs you shouldn't have to modify the splash guard, pretty much bolt on.

I already have drilled and slotted rotors on the Q, and yes I have all 4 (like said rebuilt and at the paint shop). I already have some good ceramic brake pads for them too. I don't know the more times passes by that someone doest buy them and I realize how much work I out into them the more I convince myself to throw em on my Q! lol

The fronts I wouldn't do if you plan to take it to the track or do a lot of heavy breaking. The 2mm is quite a bit of metal which means the rotor wont be able to dissipate heat as well as the Q's. Under normal driving you'll probably never notice, but under heavy braking fade may be a problem. The only reason to do it if you have all of the parts to do it and it looks good.

I would definitely do the rear though. What I want to do is R32 front calipers(32mm) and z32 aluminum rears.

Once I get back in the military, I plan on putting G37 Akebono's on my Q lol.

I agree, it would be a downgrade from the factory. The *only* reason IMO to use Z32 brakes on a Q is so that you have more options in terms of pads. The 4 piston calipers don't put out any more clamping force than the stock Q brakes, and since the rotors aren't any bigger in diameter your net braking torque ends up being the same.

You have to modify the brake lines too, which isn't horrible but it's something to consider.

Take the profit and sell the Z32 calipers...
