Haha ill end up changing the exhaust later when i do my re-tune but for now straight pipe is fine.. loud of F*uck tho.

Here is a small dyno clip goin 2500 RPM -- 5500 rpm. After we sort out some timing issues it will be good to go.

What oil pan did you use?

Do you have pics of the engine and transmission mounts?

What about wiring? Where did you splice the engine harness into the dash harness?

Looks awesome BTW!!

Thanks! I was originally planning on using the Rb25 pan but ended up going with the rb26 so i wouldn't run into any oil problems. Just had the Front diff machined along with alot of unneeded material to reduce the weight.

Not sure where the pics are for the custom sub-frame but the transmission mount is a reinforced tubular brace with frame supports.

I went with the Apexi Power FC and everything is located in the stock harness casing keeping everything looking factory.

Everything works including check lights, volt/oil temp/ digital gauge/speedo-odometer etc ..except for the tach cause the VQ uses 4 or 5 sensors and the RB just has the 1 degree and 120 degree signal from the cam angle sensor. it's not enough to make the stock tach happy.

thats awesome! what are your plans? (drift, drag, auto-x...?)

gotta love the fact you can unbolt all of the front bulkhead on the Z... prolly took like 10mins from hanging on the engine hoist to the it being bolted in lol.

s*** took my 2hours+ to go from hanging to it being bolted it on my s-14. Course I blame this on leaving the transmission bolted and all my friends going to their real jobs right as it was ready to go in lol (oh and not having a engine ballancer sucks too..)

This is actually gonna be my daily , Ill most likely end up doing some drift events tho but every other day ill be driving it to school and to get groceries lol.

Yes the front end bolting right off is awesome, it is a pain to hold all 3 layers ( radiator , plastic bumper support and inter cooler ) while i wiggle it in to position but WAY easier then doing it the other way!

Pretty much the welds got ground off i guess to make it look nicer but ended up weakening the actual sub-frame. He also designed it to weld up to a steering rack that was used and it was off by a good bit making it a pain in the a** to align. Yes the new guy actually re did EVERYTHING fabrication wise except the exhaust that ATL fab did because a lot of the intercooling piping kept hitting things and pretty much just wasnt gonna work. He knocked out my new sub frame and transmission supports in less then a week. Its stronger , lighter and looks factory!

My old sub-frame took months...

Enough said

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES Damn I have been away for while, and I missed this. Only question I have is how are you going to deal with emissions. Like OBDII testing since its obviously 1996+ vehicle. I knew that RB2X swaps into Z3x, but emissions crap is holding everything back. And since this will be your daily, what are you planing on doing?

Do you have emissions where you live? If so, are you going to have the car registered to where it will not be tested( PO box etc.) Or is it going to be all legit?

350Z is on my to do list of Rb2X, I have that what you would call a "RB Flu" and my condition is incurable, LOL.

Oh, yeah love the car love the swap, total WIN here.

Here is the link to youtube video that I have posted on this forum some time ago, of first and only Z33 RB26 that I have seen, yours is number 2 for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrjNHHBGSXo this one is made by tuner "Esprit" This one is a twin Trust T571Z turbins, yours is HKS or stockers?. Love the Metalic/Silver over black/CF 350Z's look nice in Silver or Black.

Lets just say i got the emissions thing figured out but in this case that was the easiest part about this swap lol.

Not stock turbos , these are actually a set of custom Dual Ball Bearing Garrett GT2560R hybrids. Inner housing is slightly smaller but with a larger compression wheel for a lot more boost and very quick spool . Ill be breaking the motor in at 11-14 PSI which is pushing stock turbos as is but these are good for 700hp

Okay so let me ask you.

1. Do you have emissions in the area where you live, and is this where you'll register your car?

2. Do they do OBD2 scan, or tail pipe test? Cause in my area Chicago,IL, they only test OBD2's by computer scan.

And I know of some other ways to get car registered in a emission area. Lets just say at HIN Chicago there was a tagged S15 DD car.
