It was working just fine, and then it just stopped. I think it may have something to do with the fact that I washed my car and it got wet, because it worked fine before the wash, went up and down once maybe 20 mins after, and now it's just stuck. Luckily, my window is all the way up. What could this be? What can I check or change before I assume it's the passenger window motor because thats $140! Haha. Any help is appreciated.

It's most likely the regulator. It's a pain to replace, but you can get one from a part out for cheap.

Where is the regulator located? I was going to follow all the wires down from the link, but it is most likely not a loose connection. The car wasn't moved but 10 feet, and I did wash it right before it stopped working. I think it might be a component. Do you know where the regulator is?

It's in the door skin. It you take the door panel off, it's between the inner door skin and outer door skin. HUGE pain.

Oh, just searched up what the regulator was... I feel dumb asking where it's located! lol. I think I might just go find a junk car and take it out. Wish me luck! :ohno: haha.

Yeah, taking it out of the junk car will give you practice before you drop your window and break it. This job requires either a buddy or a roll of painter's tape to hold the window up. I've done two and I was cussing both times.

Didn't see this in the other responces, but be sure you didn't accidentally hit the "child lock" on the drivers side window. For some odd reason, if this is on, the drivers side won't put up the passengers side either.

One of my easiest fixes EVER!

How do you remove the child lock? I've never seen or heard of this on the Z's lol.

On the drivers side door, where the power window buttons are, the top button is a window lock button. It is easy to accidentally push it when trying to open or close the windows in the dark or when driving.

Like I said, in most cars, it prevents the passengers from being able to open or close windows. But the driver still can. However, in these cars, when this button is pushed, even the drivers side door buttons will not operate the passengers side window.

It is super easy to check.. just go out.. push it to see if it is on (it is slightly lower when on) and then test your window. It may save you from "fixing" something that isn't broke.

And to be clear... I found this out the hard way. Luckily, I found a thread where someone posted about the child lock.

Oh man, I did that with my 2+2 when I first got it. It didn't make sense to me that it would also disable DS controls so I thought my window was broken at first. Good thinking.

Just nice to be able to give back to the community. This site has helped me a lot already, and I expect I'm just starting to learn.
