Well, here she is - my new beauty. A Crimson Black, 3.5 Coupe. Pretty much everything except navigation on her. Just picked her up after work today after dropping off my G6 convertible lease car. Still adjusting to how she feels to drive and how frakking fast she is (must be careful with that pedal on the floor - hehe)! The CVT is actually a very pleasant feel to me and I like it. It's also great to have hands free bluetooth and the iPod integration. Well, loving it so far. Not my best picture work, but I plan on taking a lot more. Have to find some other nice spots to have her pose for me. :chuckle:

Thanks. I debated a bit on getting it or not. I think on the darker color it looks pretty good. It's also a very hard paint color to match so it was easier to go factory for that. One of the other reasons I got it was I wanted it to stand out a bit from the other Altima's around. You don't see many with that spoiler. Anyway, I'm very happy with the car and that's the main thing.

Thanks. Hey guys, I have a question. I noticed yesterday that there is a square little area on both sides of the car, down low in front of the read wheels. It feels like almost a protective film on the car a few inches in size each way. But it's painted the same as the rest of the car. What the heck is this? The car has it on both sides. Do all coupes have this? It's a mystery to me.

It's not painted; it's a clear vinyl.

I took mine off, because if you're not super careful, they turn yellow bad, and on a white coupe, it's painfully noticeable. If you pull them off, do it slowly and as gently as is possible when you're pulling those things off. If you have glue residue left afterwards (probably, unless you're really good at that last part), try to find a paint-safe gunk remover, and use that. Might want to lightly scrape it with a credit card while de-gunking, and then wax it when you're done.

Wait, where? I never noticed those. Is that something new to the 2010s?

Hmm,...is it some kind of protection during car transport? I'll remove them soon then. It's been pretty warm here and that should make it a bit easier. Thanks for the info.

I think so. Little square stickies that left residue.

I think because of the shape of the fender at that point in the car's body... it sort of slopes out, and might make it more susceptible to kicked-up rocks from your front wheels. I remember someone posted that the week after they took those things off, they got some scratches.

I got some pretty dark marks, but I keep my car pretty well waxed, and that seems to help - the marks always wash off. Good luck with the removal! Remember: don't rush it, or it'll take longer.

those little squares are there to prevent rock chips, and they're not new to the 2010. there's also some on the front bumper if my memory serves me right. bothered me for a while too, but then i decided i would rather leave them on so i didn't get rock chips when i'm driving.

:werd: generally people go for aftermarket spoilers, or g35 spoilers. i'm still surprised at the fact that the factory spoiler doesn't look like s***.

I guess I'll leave the little squares on for now. I can see them helping with chipping to a degree. And frankly on a dark color they are nearly invisible.

Just bought a little $110. Gamin Nav unit. Seems like it will fit in that area in front of the great shift nicely - at least until I get a full NAV/DVD system for her. One TINY little possible issue. I have the 3.5 Coupe with CVT. Two times I have noticed now a slight jerk when I first pull out of a parking spot and touch the accelerator. I'm not sure it's not just me being too light on the gas or not. The car is quick and light on it's feet so I've been a bit cautious. It's only happened two times in about 5 days of driving now. Anyone else ever experience this?

P.S. An here's one more pic of the color - close-up showing the red mica.

I parked next to one just like yours at work today, and was jealous. They were gone when I got back, so here's hoping they spotted the "Altimacoupe.com" stickers on my rear side-windows.

No way. Don't half-a** it with gray or silver. You did good picking the color you did. Go bold!

Looks just like my pretty baby :) I looooove it. EVERYONE complements the color everywhere I go.

As far as Rims ... I'm thinking black with a chrome lip maybe... I'm not a fan of all black regardless.

Loving the car! Only had her about two weeks now and just still can't get used to how quick Hoshi is (that's what I call her). Anyway, here's another picture I took last weekend that I think shows the color about the best so far. Still quite a bit away from any real mods. But, in the meantime doing some looking online at what others have done. Glad you guys helped me decide to take the plunge and buy this beauty! :)

First mod, remove that pin stripe. It ruins such a beautiful car, IMO.

The car had to be pulled from another dealership (didn't have the color I wanted at the close place). When I went in to buy it had the painted on pinstripe (it's signed by some guy named Sid - says 'Sid Did It' in VERY tiny letters near the tail end of it). Actually, I'm kind of liking it. I think it looks much better than the pictures show. It's pretty subtle. Maybe one day I'll remove it, but for now I'm ok with it. Plus, being painted on it's a bit trickier to remove than tape.
