You could get it translated somewhere but he should have included a translated one. At least it was included in the contract I had with him. The dmv won't let you license the car until you have it translated. The title is the export certificate though. So if you have that you can just pay to get it translated. It is a blue document.

Thank you for the fast response. I emailed them again today. I have been having issues with my I devices and email so not sure it went threw last time. I will look into finding someone to translate it just incase. It can't be that much right haha!

No problem. I totally get your excitement. I know a guy who tried to get it translated the same day the dmv refused it, so he could try and get the plates that day, and he was quoted a rush fee of like 600 which is crazy. I'm sure it's way less if you give them plenty of time to translate.

Here is a new twist. CBP has already released my paperwork with no stamps of approval. Now I either have to resubmit my paperwork to have it held for inspection and who knows how long that will take or... pick it up get the papers from the broker and drive to the field office and have them inspect same day hopefully. Anyone run into this yet?

Never mind they took the papers back on their own and it is now in exam hold. Yeah less work for me for once.

So getting a title translated and certified costs $215. So yeah there's that.

Sounds like Jun was trying to save money. How does the car look? Have you gotten it home?

Not home yet. I am waiting for CBP to examin the car and stamp my papers. I'm hoping next week but I am being told they are minimal maned and there is no telling right now. I am now also trying to get an " in transient" tag to get it home with out issues. So I have to have the translated title and all that other important stuff to do that. Insurance was only $80 a month threw USAA full coverage w/$500 deductible. All in all not terribly frustrating but definitely not easy.

Do you know how much will USAA payout if needed with full coverage ?

The amount I payed for the car plus 20% because I got the extra gap coverage for $7 every 6 months. It's based off of price payed and original retail price I was told. But the rate is for the amount paid Ronald told me. It was his first time as was mine so... I hope this is correct.

So... Customs lost my paperwork and now i wait some more. This has to be one of the best things to ever. I love waiting longer. Thank you customs. My Broker is on top of things and already resubmitted the paperwork. Thank you broker. On a better note, never mind don't have one.

The car has finally made it threw customs. I got my 30 day temp tag this morning from my local DMV without any complications at all. I got my Inc. and TWIC escort. Now all I have to do is drive to savannah and get it. I have a rental car lined up for later tonight and I will be taking off first thing in the morning. When I get back all I have to do is have the car inspected (the amazing lady at the DMV already filled out the papers for that). I wish I had gotten that ladies name. She was a great help and very knowledgeable.

So... I got the car today. And it has next to no power. It was a long drive home. I'm glad I live in a pretty much flat area because I had a hard time even going over the overpasses. It would actually loose speed going up hills. I am going to take the bumper off and see what I can find. From what I can see now there might be a hole in the IC.(are the IC normally straight across? Mine seems to be quite bent?) I could not hear the turbos spooling at all. I figured I would have herd at least something while accelerating? It has a stock air box so maybe not. Also the 4WD light is on? I have not looked this up yet I'm hoping its just the fuse pulled but alas I can not read Japaneses so there's that lol. oh and it rained most of the way and the A/C does not work that was great too. I love it may I have another. (In like a week not right now haha)

OK well I definitely do not have a crash bar. Head lights were held on using a few bolts and zip ties! and the IC is huge. 24x12x2.5 inch. The 4WD light went out on its own. Im pretty sure the check engine light don't work because I started the car with both MAF disconnected and no light. guess I will pressure check all of it and do a compression check.

Im sure you already know this but I would be careful with how much you push the car too. Since it is meant for a higher octane it almost definitely is running lean on even 92 octane. Or at least mine was from Jun and was completely stock. My tuner has seen a bunch and only like one was somewhat ok. Mine was dangerously lean so I went with an aftermarket ecu and tune. Glad to hear you got the car and you can finally enjoy it though.

Mine also had non working ac but just needed more r12 as a conversion to r134a made it work. With the not hearing the turbos spooling, I also couldn't hear mine with the stock box but enjoy the sound once I went with the apexi pods.

maybe I can drain the tank tomorrow and filler up with 100 or higher. see if that makes a difference. I did not think it could be fuel hmmm Also I noticed my head lights have been rewired with some aftermarket wires and relays. I took all that out and just pluged in the factory plugs(they were just laying there) and the lights work great. weird. Do the corner light come on with the rest of the lights or are they just blinkers. Mine only come on with the blinkers and hazards

I'm not sure but I don't think my corners come on with the headlights. Just the city lights instead. The relays may be to turn on the low beams with the high beams. The stock arrangement is for the lowbeams to turn off when the high beams get turned on. So to increase light output, people mod them to stay on. I modded mine at the actual switch.

and now I am fairly certain that my wastegates are welded shut they don't move at all and I can see where it looks like some one went ahead and tacked them babies closed. I will try to get a picture and upload it.

Also Also... I'm pretty sure I have an exhaust leak. All be it small but I think it is at the turbo/manifold. guess I will let it cool down and venture into the wild. I think this could cause the issue. I drained the fuel tank(which is huge) and put in 5 gal of 110 and it made a small difference at idle and less than 3kRPM. Above that is nothing and I just hear the pitter patter of the exhaust leak and a strange ticking noise(i don't think it is detonating). Ill have the exhaust off by tomorrow I hope and see what it all looks like. Also going to try to going off that welded bull s***.

I payed 13.8 for the car. It is condition wise great. Small things here and there as can be expected. I was wrong about the waste gate thing. The spring rate on these is pretty strong I was able to actuate them once I got all of the upper crap off. I did put new exhaust gaskets on the y-pipe. Im still here something from cat back. I cleaned both MAF because they were covered in oil. Speaking of oil. I have a puddle in both cold sides and all of the piping is covered. It has next to no shaft play. After reassembly I left the filter out and tried to see if I could hear the turbos and I herd nothing. All motor. It runs much better now that the MAF does not have oil all over them. I'm going to sleep on this and try again tomorrow. I need a boost gauge as well. I'm going to try to narrow one tomorrow as well.

Edit. I found the gauge. i have not seen it move past 0 the whole time hmm

Yep zero boost. I think I will spray it down tomorrow and see if I can find any bubbles.

That's what happened in the case of my car. It was already on the water before all my paperwork was ready to go to be submitted to Customs & Border Protection when she arrived in Jacksonville port via Hoegh.

Oil in the cold side piping is completely normal. These cars get a ton of vapor blow-by being dumped into the intake. A catch can or tank of some sort is necessary if you don't want coated MAFs again.

I am going to buy a borescope to day to look up the exhaust and see if the exhaust wheels are there. This is way easier than removing them turbos. Plus I don't have any new gaskets so I will be ordering them to have them ready when I do need them.

All I have to say is F*** JSP Trading. My rear turbo has no exhaust wheel and it is not in the exhaust. That to me means they know it is not there because some one had to take it out. It has a catalytic converter so it did not get past that for sure. Looks like I will be upgrading much faster than I thought.

FYI I was having trouble finding those small turbo outlet/inlet gaskets in the states, and I end up ordering them from jp-carparts. They charge $5.08 per gasket plus S&H. I told them to use the cheapest shipping method so they charged me $13, which turned out to be DHL express and I got them the next day. I would have bought more if I had known that.

Let me know if you end up finding them in the states.
