Least those waiting aren't questioning if their cars are coming. They are just waiting for birthdays.

Whole group of Rivsu, GTR garage, and I assume IVI "waiters" as well in that case.

Still waiting. I was told they took the crank out to inspect for what is causing the noise. They definitely are going out of there way to make sure this car is in optimal condition when shipped.

It's a bill of lading number. It represents a tracking number for your car. It's good to see he is giving it out so early now. I almost didn't get mine in time for the 48 hours before shipping required by customs.

If anyone cares to know, I have not gotten the car and still don't have a ship date. Waiting on parts I'm told.

Wow. That is horrible. I feel very lucky that I was able to get mine from him with only needing a new clutch. I'm sorry to hear that. Another customer from him got his car but is having engine issues even after he supposedly replaced the engine for him.

Sorry to hear about some of the negative experience. I finally got my 1989 GTR last week from Feast Auto. My car was initially "rejected" by US customs for not having pictures of vin plate, engine bay, side and back shots with the application. My customs broker (LA) said this was unusual and the first for her. Anyhow, after submitting the pictures, the car passed customs. This experience makes me wonder if the even look at the car? The car looked completely stock but had an exhaust, upgraded turbos among other things.

Huh? Customs didn't ask for pictures of any kind when my GT-R arrived at port. I mean, they had to physically go over the car and engine bay during inspection so why would they need pictures?

Well it looks like this GT-R dream may come to fruition. It seems the car has a rebuilt motor and is ready for shipment. This may seem like a funny question but, Jun asked me for my consignee and notified party information :gapteeth: . I honestly after looking up the definition do not know who that will be  . Please share your information so i can be a tad less confused  . Thanks in advance.

P.S. its ok to make fun of me I like it. :poke:

Maybe that is who is notified when the vehicle arrives in the port? Like a customs broker? For the bill of lading.

Consignee usually means whoever is accepting a shipment so I would assume they mean the person who'll be receiving the car at port. Like Brexfast said it sounds like they mean a customs broker. Unless your exporter has their own staff here in the US to handle it I would assume you'd need to get one to handle the customs fees, port fees, etc.

I need a broker in Savannah GA that has done this process before. Also one that answers the phone and returns calls. Does any one have one in mind. I've called at least 10 and I am not having any luck.

Dang, how long is your vehicle overdue now? 8 months? Sorry to hear. If it makes you feel better between repairs, fixing previous owner's stupid s***, waiting on parts and upgrades, my car's been in the shop for almost 8 weeks.

Tell me if this is true? My broker said that if cargo is going RO-RO you do not have to have the ISF-10 submitted 24 hours in advance. Just that it must be submitted shortly after sailing before arrival.
Also JSP Trading has dropped the car off at Yokohama port and has asked for a June 20 ship date. I can hardly believe it honestly. If it sails Saturday it should be in port 17 July.

My broker told me that it had to be submitted before the sailing date and after some back and forth, Jun finally gave me the info just before the deadline. However I was told by another buyer that his broker got the info after the sailing date and filed it later and it was completely legal. Supposedly roro is different in that regard compared to shipping containers.

They should have never told me what boat the car will be on... :squint: Now I get to spend hours tracking the boat across the ocean as it goes port to port on a seemingly endless trip.I think it should just steam on over here drop the car off and then resume what ever it wants after that. The next 27 days will feel longer than waiting the year and a half it took to actually ship.

Some information for your minds. "If your car is shipping RORO you have until 24 hours before the vessel arrives in port for your broker to submit your ISF-10." From John S. James Co. This is one of the few brokers I felt actually knew what they were talking about while I was calling around in Savannah, GA. Hope this helps some one.

I know how you feel, I've been tracking the boat mine is on for the last 20 days checking every couple hours. Should land in one week!

I was looking at GTR-Garage site and... Why are they trying to sell some fairly modded cars saying that they are "Federally Legal vehicle"? I'm pretty sure that would mean they are lying on their EPA form. Just curious. All it would take is some customs or federal agent to take a glance at their site and it's clear as day they are not in an unmodified state. Unless they are already in the states being modded but that's not what I can see.

I've had that same concern with GTR-Garage myself. The EPA exemption has enough vagueness about what constitutes "original configuration" that I can see why modified cars are slipping through but I'd hate to be that one unlucky customer who gets turned away at the port.

So... I received my title and BL paperwork from the shipper a few days ago. I did not however receive a "translated export certificate title". Is this something i will need to have? I did contact JSP Trading about this 2 days ago. He and I do not seem to have a very good rapport. I'm sure he will respond at some point, he normally does. Is this something I would be able to do on my end to not have to mess with it?
