Ok, I installed my mid-pipes and the car sounds really nice now. However, I ran into a problem with driverside muffler touching my rear bumper constantly. this can't be a good . What is the easiest fix to lowering my tip about half and inch so that it sits correctly.

We didn't use our HD video camera so quality is a bid crude. This was captured using Iphone. This is a sound clip for FX35 Y-pipe, Megan Mid-pipe, and Tanabe Muffler Combo.

I would go to an exhaust shop and show them.

Seems like they could just extend the bracket so that it is not touching.

I went to the exhaust shop and they said just leave it alone. The only way to adjust it slightly is to cut my hanger on the Tanabe and weld a different one. I decided that's not what I want to do.

Maybe get a bigger rubber gromet that the exhaust will hang from to lower it?

I'll post sound clips very soon. I stripped one of the bolts connecting the mid pipe to the Y-pipe so I had to replace the Y-pipe. I happen to have my stock FX Y-pipe laying around so I used that. FX Y-pipe is beefier and the diameter of the single opening is larger than the M. The car sounds really nice now. Even my wife who said I'm gonna sound like a ricer said she likes the sound, especially at higher RPM. The pitch of the sound goes from low growl to a higher pitch sound at high RPM. It's very pleasant and very sporty sounding. I'm very happy with my FX Y-pipe, Megan Mid Pipe, and Tanabe Muffler combo.

I don't think it contributes much to sound if you just swap out the Y-pipe. The only reason I used the FX Y-pipe is due to me badly stripping one of the bolts :gapteeth:

When I was looking at the diameter of the pipes between M and FX, FX was a lot more beefier. Plus, on the FX Y-pipe, the single pipe where the two pipes join is shorter than the M.

I took some shots during the day:
