I finished installing Megan LP Coilover few weeks ago.I tuned the damper setting just the way I like it and the ride is amazing.

I can go another 1.5 to 2" lower but I don't think it's Ideal for everyday driving.

It's pretty good that I can change the damper setting depends how I feel like to drive time to time with just few clicks.

I got a deal from my friends performance shop in Montclair, CA.

I got the LP with the spindles installed for $1500.00 including the alignment.

Hey, reviving an old thread. So after re-vising all my bumper stops, all my swaybar links I still get hitting on my drivers side left wheel with the Tein springs and KYB SR Specials. I am trying to decide if I am going to run the Q for another 5 years, so I am thinking about doing a switch to Megans since it is impossible to find any other springs other than OEM.

How is your setup 2 years later?? I will PM you as well. You mention a shop in Montclair that did it, was there any welding involved??

Hey BadQ45, How are you? Good to hear from you.

They offer two types of LP coilover. With or without spindles.

I got the Megan coilovers with the spindles so I didn't have to deal with cutting and welding the spindles.

I am doing well, thanks for asking :).

So I am super frustrated now with my car. I had the sway bar end links and essentially everything else replaced about 9 months ago to try to get rid of the issue with my tire hitting the inside of the wheel well. I had also destroyed the strut stop and replaced that as well. Now I am hitting more often and I can only assume that the Tein spring I bought from Falk (before anybody here knew about the V6 vs. V8 issue with these cars) is now weak and causing this. What sucks is they worked perfectly for 8 years and it is only the left front.

I am thinking about doing the megan's given my only other choice is going to be putting OEM springs on the car that will cost like $900 without labor...I could just live with it until it finally fails but would like to drive the car for a few more years. I figure I can sell the KYB SR Specials (they only have 30k on them) to someone here for $250 bucks.

Can you send me the name of your shop? I may just go down to Montclair to have them done or see if they can source them for me and have installed here in Bay Area.

Audio, while I have your attention, did you get your Megans from Carshop USA? I found these guys on eBay, the megans with spindles (you said that was the key to not having to do welding) are $1150. I think I am just going to pull the trigger, can you tell me the exact way you adjusted them so i get the correct ride height. The way your car looks is exactly how I want mine to look.

Curses Tein!!!!!!!

You can order the parts from anyone who have better price if you are going to install & deal with it by your self.

If you don't install them I usually recommend to order the parts from the shop who is going to install them to reduce the headache in case something goes wrong although I pay little more.

I used to have a performance shop so I know if a customer brought their own parts in I can not guarantee anything on the parts or the labor since I have nothing to do with the defective or the wrong parts brought in by the customer.

I had a customer bought an amp online that worked for a week and paid shipping to send it out then out of music for a week plus and pay again to reinstall.

Sometimes buying online is not the best deal.

Sorry to butt in but I'd be interested in the KYB's should you sell them Bad45T.

Thanks Audio, I couldn't find anybody that could sell and install but I found a place in So Cal for $1150 with tax shipped. I will be taking them to my mechanic with fingers crossed that everything works. Question, do you have the settings that you used for them?? What height?? My mechanic said last time he did some coilovers that was tricky part of it. If you remember how you setup yours I'd appreciate it.

eQlipse, so yes I am going to be (sadly) done with SR Specials which still have plenty of life left in them. Where do you live?? I wouldn't be looking to get a lot of $$ for them, however, the fronts would require labor to get the struts out.

E-mail me [email protected] and we can talk off-line.

What do you have your damper settings at? I keep playing with mine but they're not perfect yet...

Last call on the KYB's, as of Friday they go into the trash can. The only thing someone has to pay is the labor to extract the front struts and shipping.
