Maximum size tires with stock steel rims

Unsure if this has already been posted. I did search.

I am buying new tires my current tire size is 185/68 R15.

I want to know what is the safest tire size for my car, i wanted to get wider ones to give me better grip and feel on the road.

I need wider tires that dont scrape aginst my car either as i live in the city and do lots of full lock turns.
