ok first off, i am new here. second, i was wondering if ANYBODY knows how much of a pain in the *** it would be to swap an 06 maxima engine into an 06 sentra? i have a 1.8 and i bought it so i could show that it is possible to turn something with not so much power into something that will make people **** themselves when they see what is actually possible for said first example.i know it can be done i just dont have enough time to do all the research between school, work and my son. if anyone can help with info on what parts i would need and how much time it would take(rough estimate) i would greatly appreciate it.

oh yeah i also have a set of 18 in. moda 5x100 rims with tires that im trying to sell or trade for upgrades to my sentra. if you are interested let me know.

I saw a B14 with one at a meet last month. It was one of the highlights. Pretty neat swap, sounded awesome. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner.

The member who does them goes by Trav4011.

Run a search for him and for any variations of the terms "Sentra VQ swap." You'll find a good bit of info.

Basically, it's expensive but doable.

Welcome to NICO!

definitely the way to go unless you live in a carb restrictive state cause the CEL stays on IIRC.

I would think that all CEL/SES light issues could be dealt with during this sort of swap unless you were doing big mods to the VQ.

if you swap out the entire ecu from a car that had the front drive vq as long as it didnt have any codes thatset prior i would think that would take care of the problem.

True. Having the ECU from the engine you take should not leave a CEL on. My problem would be the NATS system, I am familiar with Mitsubishi engine swaps (I read a write-up on putting a SOHC 2.4L into a 2002 OZ Rally) and you have to switch over the ignition antenna for the key to turn over. Anyone know the answer to this?

Found it. the engine will throw a check engine light, it can be disabled but you will not pass OBD port inspection, only sniffer.
