I am considering buying one at a good price, but I can't afford to put $5000 in the bottom end and get it to where I want it to be(faster than my S13). I have a few questions for the serious Z32 enthusiast........

1. How much does a TT Z32 weigh?2. how much power can I get on a stock bottom end?3. What engine mods are recommended for high boost(20-25psi) on the VG30DETT? (arp head studs, head gaskets, etc)4. Some links to someone besides JWT and Stillen for performance upgrades?5. Best replacement turbos for close to 600whp if she can take it?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm an SR guy and just wanted to ask some questions about the Z32.

1 more question....... Cheaper car to build, 11 sec Z32 or 11 sec S13. I have built bottom end and about $12000 in my SR and I'm curious.

Pretty much everything Z32 is expensive, but the bottom end on the stock VG30DETT is pretty tough, thought I dont know if I would push 600 through it without some mods. Cant remember the exact dry curb weight, but with 1 person, tank of gas and anything else you might have packed in there, expect to be upwards of 3700 lbs

One thing I will throw in there to entice you to get a Z: women love the Z!

A 2+2 is about 3400-3500lbsI believe a 2 seater is about 3200-3300lbs

Weight varies based on options (I have power leather seats, so that puts me on the heavy side).

For 600rwhp, you will need to do forged pistons. The stock pistons will make it to around 550rwhp.Connecting rods are fine, they are forged stock.

Stock turbos are good for about 14 psi, as are the stock 370cc injectors.

If you want 600rwhp I would do:

Garrett GT600R TurbosNismo 740cc injectors with 300 degree fuel railsForged pistonsARP headstudsJWT POP Charger intakeFull turbo back exhaust (loose the stock downpipes for sure!)Reflashed JWT ECU or AEM EMSBoost, oil press and wideband A/F gauges

I highly recommend:

AMS exhaust manifoldsMetal head gasket (machine the faces)Replace all fuel lines and clamps

I think that should do the trick, feel free to add on to that if I missed anything guys.

the pistons and rods are good for somewhere north of 500 whp, the stock turbo's are good to just short of 400 whp, the stock turbo's will get you deep in the 12's, low 12's, to hit 11's just about any turbo upgrade will get you ther, 400 whp will get the z32 into the high 11's, a 600 whp z32 should get you into the mid 10's! and it shouldn't cost more than $3000 for a fully built bottom bottom end, and thats with custom rods pistons and enought o cover a fresh valve job, all the bearings and gaskets to put it all back together

stock bottom end is good for 600hp if you keep detonation down and the main bearings are in good shape! Any amount of detonation at that level and you'll knock out the stock pistons pretty quickly.

All of this sounds really good. The Z32 is a much more well balanced car and MUCH SEXIER than the 240sx of any year. I would love to know the dry weight without driver to have a good idea of how much power I will need. I have seen Z1 and JWT with twin GT28RS (disco potatos) packages and that has to be sick!! So do you think metal head gaskets, arp head studs and some forged pistons and I'll be ready for 600whp? I will be doing JWT tune and 740cc nismo inj.

wrong question, psi is a measure of pressure, not a measure of quantity, they are capable of 14 psi and beyond independantly or combined, the flow rate, expressed in lbs/min is what changes, they flow around 20 lbs/min each at peak boost, so combined they flow around 40 lbs/min at peak boost, peak boost beign around 18 psi

evildky, your in Louisville, any chance you make it to beach bend in Bowling Green next Saturday the 22nd. There will be some good racing in some cold weather. I will be going heads up with 2 Doctors from Hopkinsville KY. One in a 08 Z06 and the other in a 07 911 turbo AWD in my S13 Sr20det. We should all be in the 11's. I am think hard about getting a Z32 TT over the winter and going through it. 600whp and weight reduction to around 3000lbs should put the Z32 in the mid 10's!

if you are gunning for 11's the jwt sport 500's with stock injectors, stock intercoolers, cat back exhaust, intake, and chip and boost controller will get you there

if you just want to get the most out of your stock turbo's you do the basic intake, exhaust, ecu and boost controller, this will get you reall close to 11's but not quite

if you want to bruise some ego's and get deep into the low 11's maybe even high 10's get the sport 700's along wiht the 720cc injectors, fatty intercoolers, intake, exhaust, downpipes, ecu and boost controller, not sure how long the engine will last but hey while you got your wallet out.....

I willbe running my S13 sr20 this weekend and setting a bench mark for the Z32 I want to purchase. The Z32 is a much sexier and more well balanced car but is going to be very expensive to maintain and get get into the low 11's/high 10's! I don't know if I won't stick with the SR20 and put my money into suspension. I already have Z32 30mm brakes and a 400whp setup in a 2600lbs car. All it lacks is suspension and it will be hard to beat by a 3400lbs Z32. I will have to cut 200+lbs off a Z32 and get over 500whp to have what I want. I don't think I can do that for less than $20000! By the way, the Z32's are a Bit#$ to work on compared to the SR in a 240sx. Here is a pic of my engine bay in my S13..........

what kind of hp you putting out. (I get to use some knowledge learned from fellow NICO members ) basic rule of thumb: 370cc injectors support 370 hp, 555cc injectors support 555 hp. Get the picture? Anything extremely high over the numbers your making will just be dumping unneeded fuel into your cylinders and flood it.

And i doubt you have a 1200 hp 300zx
