The situation: 2005 with 144k. No major issues until now

--Another car hit the driver's side front quarter panel.

--Body shop replaced it, aligned front end.

--Drove the car home and heard this noise and body shop is not responsible and they have no idea what the noise is. Also, the shop claims he took it across the street to the infiniti dealer and they were unable to diagnose, which I find absurd.

Please help.

Check your oil

Did you ever look under the hood inspect the vehicle while on a lift?

If it wasn't doing it before then take it back to the body shop. It doesn't sound mechanical so there may be something out of line with one of the pulleys or the fan.
