LT1 = LS1 in motor mounts?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

no I don't have the engine yet... but I found a 200sx for sale without an engine... it has a 1.8T but broken... and its going for 2500$, I found an LS1 and an LT1 but the LT1 has only 50,000km the LS1 has around 100,000km the LS1 is out of a wrecked camaro... the distributer is broken... so are the holes that hold the distributer to the block... sparkplug wires are gone... and no AC... for 1700$ with no gearbox, but with complete wire-harness... the Lt1 comes complete... with an Auto gearbox :S, i'll buy a manual later, and also with a AC, and all wire - harness... for 900$

so... this is where im facing trouble takeing the LS1...

how much does the manual gearbox retail for? for the LS1 or LT1...

You can get a complete LS1 no tranny for 1500. Now you can use almost any GM tranny. A t56 would be best if you want a manual. I would say 2300 you can get a LS1 with a T56. Check out LS1.com its a Forum but they have classified section. Thats where I got my LS6 from. Now you said a 200sx. Thats a FWD car right? So no V8 for you. Also try ebay for a complete engine tranny pull. Make sure its complete though Engine, ECU, harness, manifolds, flexplate or flywheel, and all the accessories.

You can get a decent 240sx S13 shell for a 1000 bucks. That where I started.

The LT-1's are ok engines. Not as much power as an LSX. The LSX is your best bet.

LS1s don't have distributors.

I'm guessing he doesn't live in the US (i.e. - a 200SX is an S13/S14 because it came stock w/ an SR20). If he does in fact have a US 200SX, you're correct.

I totally agree on the LSx being the best bet. Don't bother w/ the LT1.

Around $1500 is a normal price for a T56, give or take a few hundred. You should be able to find one for around $1200 if you wait for a deal.

Alternators are easy to find. I picked up one form a junk yard for $50.

Shipping is a *****. Gotta pay to play.
