How do I tighten the rearview mirror. It is shifting around especially when the temp outside is extremely hot.

It is a '96 Q

Remove rubber plug on backside,tighten screw using phillips screwdriver

Thanks alot. Now to work on all the dead light bulbs.This Q is going to last 8 more years $$$ if I have to sell my first born child. I better start procreating soon.

OEM or Sylvania LL only.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago. I was considering replacing the mirror but figured a search of the Q forum would be wise first. I found several threads on the topic, fixed it in 10 seconds (well, I would have if I hadn't nearly lost the rubber plug after it LAUNCHED out of the mirror).

I was definitely glad to keep the stock mirror. The stock dimmer control setup is far too '90s-tech cool to replace with a modern homelink style mirror. I still wish the mirror itself was about an inch wider, though.
