Honest question. Are you going to take it to the track? If not, you really don't need the bigger brakes. The cost/benefit equation does't work.

Starter, I disagree. The Akebono brakes vs. base brakes is like night and day for even daily use.

kunkstarr, check out http://www.tunerzstore.com as they have a full Akebono kit available for retrofit (not sure if it includes the front brake spacer that is needed for the G35 but you can ask him via email). This how-to is actually us installing the kit onto his '04 G35 sedan: http://infinitig37.com/akebono-big-brake-swap.html

I am about to pull the trigger on some Akebono's. I was going to order from Z1 but I saw OC Infiniti is going to have a sale soon, so I am holding off. They said 950 for all 4 calipers and hardware, and I am to run carbotech pads and stoptech rotors. Where should I get the adapter from? Z1 or Concept Z

Both have them, I'd search for the best deal and go from there.

I was looking on tunerzstore and couldn't find the adapters to run Akebono calipers on an 03-07 coupe. Is that just one of those things where you have to call and ask? Or are they available elsewhere?

Cool, I don't like the feel of the stock brakes at all, and I plan to take the car to a few track days next year if I can find the time. Also, I read the article on the install, didn't see anything in there about the E-brake linkage. Does it hook up the exact same way on sport calipers as it does on stock? This doesn't seem very likely. Hopefully someone can elaborate.

Doh! Look at me still thinking in 240SX terms lol. Thanks, didn't even think about that. Guess that's probably something I should know working at Infiniti, but we just service them so rarely I'm not even familiar with the parts at all.
